Just back from a solo cycle tour on a foldable bike from Perth to Margaret River.
Lots of grab and go shots due to the time/distance I needed to cover in a 3days.
Quite a pity as the sunsets on those days were just wonderful.

I don't know if it's the right place to ask but I'm about to buy a 35mm lens and don't know which one to choose.
I have the opportunity to get one Samyang 35mm F1.4 for around 240$ and one Pentax K 35mm F2 for 230$. Which would be the best in your opinion? (Considering the vignetting, the sharpness and distorsions factors.)
P.S. I want a fast aperture as I love blur background, plus I want to take pictures in the dark...

While the Samyang may be new and nice, its too big for my preference.

So for me, it will be the K35/2.

The K35/2 is one of my favorite manual lenses. Beautiful rendering, warm and natural colors and sharp. I payed about the same price as in your offer and I didnīt regret it. During my trip to Asia, I took about 80 % of my pictures with it on the A7. Highly recommended!

The Anime Festival Asia 2016 , just ended over the weekend. Managed to find some time to attend the events with some friends to take some pictures of some of the participants. Here are some of the result . K-1 with FA 50 f/1.4.

Has anyone got any samples of the same shot taken on an A7 and a K-1? From just observing various photos, it appears the K-1 deals with (legacy) wide-angles a fair bit better than the Sony...?

I have both cameras and can say with 100% surety that the pentax performs much better. The only reason why I still have the a7 is for convenience. It feels like a nikon coolpix in comparison

Don't get me wrong, the sony is great! But the pentax just seems to pair better with the lenses.

I just bought the K-1 a month or so ago, I haven't gotten around to getting personal work done on it. When I finish retouching I will post here, but in the meantime I will share a link to my flickr, most of the work was done with pentax lenses, with the Mitakon 50mm f/.95 being an exception as well as my minolta 50mm 1.4. Hope this helps! And I will do a comparison for you the next time I have a shoot if you'd like?

Pictures from a much over-looked lens. K-135mm f/2.5 - Easy to use, portable, good colours and good separation when used properly. Get it if one is available for sale.
