Dice, just hopped into this thread and really enjoyed your posts of "H2O" and "Electric Green". That moss or alga or whatever in the third pic of H2O is really fascinating! You captured its delicacy wonderfully. And the Electric Green image is complex and engaging. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for the kind comments.

Thanks dngr. Sounds like a great trip. I've only been to Europe once. And your kit plan sounds right on target. I struggle with a UWA but depending on where you are going, that might be another possibility. If you get the lens you've got to start adding your images to the club. I feel like I'm hogging all the space here.
Your hike photos are very nice! Wish I had been there - and often landscapes don't give me that.

I suppose I will now 'struggle' with UWA.

Thanks Paul. I bet your mind will join the "controlled".

One of the strengths of this lens is the way it handles back light:

Have to agree. And it does a good job of flare control. Here is shot into the setting sun last night at the Grand Canyon. I was on a college tour in Arizona with my son when we decided to drive to GC and catch the sunset. We just made it in time.

Nice work and glad folks are still adding images. Here is one from this morning before I got wet. Kind of gloomy but I like the reeds.

Nice to see you using your DA20-40 regularly Crooksie. I see from the images posted you shoot at f5.6. Just curious about that.

Here is one from a hike last weekend. With better lighting it might have had more of the 3-d image I was shooting for.

Picked up my 20-40 Limited yesterday at 8:30 am at the Post Office and took most of the day at the William F. Finley NWR in the central Willamette Valley.
I love the scenic photo opps as much as the wild-life photo opps. Only used my DA* 300 once, the rest of the time I used the 20-40. Loved the lens. (I have the 15,31,43,77, and 100)
I will dribble the photos in slowly. i used my normal processing in Lightroom I hope the EXIF follows.
