A couple of recent shots with my 20-40 ltd.

I'm starting to feel the "need" for a DA 12-24. From what I hear, that lens performs like a "limited".

It's been a while since I posted as I've not been doing a lot of photog. But here is a simple portrait from a family gathering.

Hello,

I picked up my copy of the 20-40mm limited 2 weeks ago and headed off to Morocco to wander the medinas of Fes and Chefchauen. I cannot recommend this lens highly enough!
It's extremely sharp even at f2.8, renders every shot beautifully and the bokeh is top class. The prefect travel zoom for me, my search for the perfect walkaround has ended permanently. I've used the Tamron 17-50 f2.8 and the Pentax wipes the floor with it in every respect other than zoom range. This is a quality, compact optic and worth the price tag in my book.

Shots to follow!

Magnus

Canadian National 89 HDR

Canadian National 89 resting in its shed at Strasburg Railroad. A beautiful piece of machinery captured by the new 20-40mm Limited.

Makes a pretty good portrait lens. An actor friend of mine needed some shots for his portfolio, we were at a site that had old train cars and engines.

Nice shots, all. Isn't it nice have the flexibility to zoom and the quality of the primes (well, almost)?!

This 20-40 has it's limits, but has become my most used lens.

It's appeal is most definitely "limited". Nobody would ever shoot a wedding with it.

I consider it a 30mm with a little bit of flexibility. Overpriced? A little. It's just really enjoyable to shoot with. Photography is supposed to be fun, right? Heavy gear can be a burden sometimes for recreation photography.

In film days, my most used lenses were a 35mm (Summicron) and a 55mm (Takumar).
The DA 20-40 covers more than that FOV range on APS-C.

For me, 30mm on APS-C is too close to the frame diagonal,
which makes a boringly "normal" focal length.
