Very artistic one edri, how did you achieve this?

I like how you made a photo from the usual bland telecoms tower, I have photographed these myself but they do need to be electrified somewhat.

Definitely sure the filter is from Topaz from the Glow series. If not you can find one that does something very similar.

Ocean Blue. Named for her eye color.

I was, once again, asked to photo-document an animal rescue in progress. The rescued dog required extensive medical care including surgery and the rescuers wanted good photos for the fund raiser on social media. This call was on short notice. I had just returned from walking my own dog with my GR III and a Q7 with the 06 telezoom in my pockets. I grabbed up the K3 II with the 20-40 Ltd and rode out to the hospital.

Though not perfect, this particular photo of Ocean Blue generated the most compliments and comments. And, I’m told, inspired several people to donate to the cause.

Back Story Short version: This Catahoula mix and 7 puppies were removed from an abusers home by a rural county’s animal control and law enforcement. An ad hoc group of local apex rescuers made sure the dog and pups were transported to Blue Pearl Animal Hospital in Louisville. The mother dog was malnourished, exhibited injuries consistent with beatings and had a month old untreated gunshot wound to a foreleg that shattered both bones and left bullet fragments in the soft tissue.

The seven 4 week old pups had to be forced weaned as the mama dog was on a fentanyl patch for pain. The surgery, required a metal plate, screws and a bone graft at a cost of over $6000 but looks successful in saving the leg. Currently, Ocean Blue is recovering at the home of her foster. The seven pups are being cared for by one of the apex rescuers but they are seeking folks willing to foster groups of 2 or 3 pups to share the load.

Amen. Didn't have my macro lenses on the walk unfortunately, but the DA 20-40 did a good job. This amazing creature is a female Australian Jewel Spider (Austracantha minax), also known as Six-spined Spider, Spiny Spider or Christmas Spider. The "coloured lights" bokeh is another of the spiders. (Amazing how the lens turned a spiky alien into pretty bokeh.) Waratah heathland, Victoria. Taken with the KP.

(X-posted from the spiders thread.)

Ha! We've got all shapes and sizes. The little ones often have the nastiest bite.
