Pentax K-3 II @31mm, F1.8, 1/1000, ISO 200, Processed in DxO Photolab.

A bench in Cornelisparken, Stockholm.
This image was deliberately underexposed to keep the details in the sky. During post processing I pushed the overall exposure by 2.7 EV and then used a graduated filter on the sky (-1.2 EV) to darken it. There were some patches of sky, that were too bright, so I used a couple of control points, to selectively reduce exposure in these areas.

Unprocessed version of the image above.

Mounted on K-3. @ 18mm, F6.3, 1/250, ISO 100. Processed in Dxo Photolab.

Shot on a hiking trail in Geta, Åland islands, Finland. I selectively darkened the trees and sky in the background to bring out the foreground. Originally shot in July 2015, reworked earlier today from the original RAW file.

I wanted to just throw something out there about how a calibrated this lens using the docking station . I had a hard time calibrating this lens because it was jumping around from front to back focus and it would not focus at the same distance 2 time in a row so it was hard to figure out what number to set it at . I went through all the distances and all the zoom setting . This was on my k3 . I gave up on the auto focus and just used live view and the photos would all turn out in focus but with the view finder it was hit and miss with more misses than hits . I read a comment where someone calibrated the lens in a different way so I thought I would give it a try . I used a shoe box to focus on in live view . What you want to do is set the lens distances at the same mark that is in the software and move the box till its in perfect live view focus and take a photo to check its sharp then take it out of live view and watch the focus wheel and see if it moves when you press the focus button . If it moves then it needs calibrating . If it moves to the left the use the + numbers if it moves to the right use the - numbers . The goal is to take a photo and the focus wheel doesn't move at all at the set distances . I did this to all the settings so there is no movement so now the focus in the view finder is the same as the live view focus Now when I auto focus using the view finder all the photos are in focus . I don't know why its working calibrating the lens this way but it is . If you have this lens and you are having trouble with the lens not focusing correctly just try it you have nothing to lose . Could someone tell me why matching the view finder focus with the live view focus would make the lens start picking the correct focus distance every time now when before it wasn't ?
