The Rikenon P 50 1.4 is an awesome lens for flowers... it captures the delicate petals very... delicately I'd say! Both of these taken at f/2.8.

Rikenon XR 28 2.8 has pretty good bokeh for a wide angle...

I'm in need of some help. I just got a Rikenon 55mm f1.2 lens today. The aperture was stuck wide open which wasn't a problem until I decided to clean them. So I did and now the lens won't open fully to f1.2. When mounted on my K-70, the aperture immediately closes fully and then opens only when taking a picture. In addition, the focus ring no longer rotates fully. It seems stuck between 1.2 and 3m focusing distance. Can anyone shed some light, no pun intended, on this?

That is a shame.

I would send it to someone to get it fixed, it certainly seems like it is worth the effort (and money).

Thanks but actually I think I fixed it myself. Not exactly sure how but everything works well now. I think what was happening is that I kept forgetting to align a pin which prevented the lens from focusing down to closest focus and out to infinity.
Now, the aperture blades are snappy, lens focuses correctly (as far as I could tell), and pictures are... Well... Bokeh-ey. It is very soft in the center at bf1.2 but it is f1.2. I also have a better idea of how to fix this lens now.

I have two Rikenon lenses, a 50 //2 I bought for $15 and a 70-210 f/3.9 I have $40 in. My only complaint with both lenses- they are straight K Mount! If they had A series contacts both would get general use.
Anyhow, I was shooting a roll of film through my Pentax Super Program and nailed this one in 10,000 exposures moment on a HOT day earlier this month.

Some back story on the locomotive shown and it’s current location.
Photo taken on the Buffalo & Pittsburgh Railroad at the Homer City, PA Industrial tracks.
The locomotive was built by EMD in April of 1975 for the Southern Pacific RR, and still wears most of its faded original red and gray paint. Sold numerous times since being retired by the SP in the 1990’s, the big unit was in Ontario Canada working for the Goderich & Exeter Ry. until November of 2018. The GERX is owned by the same parent company as Buffalo & Pittsburgh. After arriving in Pennsylvania, a railroad history minded employee decided to repaint the white SP logo on the nose of #3045 (original SP # 9392). I’m fortunate to have caught this locomotive in the lead on several trains. It will be repainted into BPRR colors soon, ending the era of SP trains in western PA.
