Both shots with CZJ MC Sonnar 180 2,8 . Processed in SilkyPix 6. Slightly boosted the contrast and fixed underexposure.

Some more CZJ MC Sonnar 180 2.8 shots. I really like how the colours look.

I recently found this Carl Zeiss Jena Pancolar for a good price in Europe (somewhat less than €100). It's the 8 bladed, radioactive version...

It certainly renders differently from my other fast 50/55s (partly because of the yellowed glass elements), and I like it a lot. Here are a couple of photos so far, the second de-yellowed:

CZJ 135/3.5 "zebra"

I got this lens a year's time ago, but didn't really take it out till today. How wrong have I been... (all hand held and wide open)

Just arrived today, Wednesday November 12, my cheap (9.50 GBP) Pentacon 135mm f/2.8 - some coating loss on front element, but otherwise seems OK.

(Sample below at f/2.8 - this is the 6-leaf iris version, alas not the Bokeh Monster 15-leaf)

Less than 10GBP is still a good price. (Is it the MC version? And, if so, the auto or the electric version?)

I think it is the "plain" version ---

OK. Yeah. That's one of the first auto-aperture ones.

While I'd like the 15-leaf version, they can be quite expensive for a good clean one, and even sometimes for a less than perfect specimen.

Any recommendations for cleaning off coating deterioration from front surface of these lenses, without removal of any coating still in good condition.

danmdan , the cat in your shot is either out of focus, or the lens is extremely soft at that setting. Yet again it is almost impossible to judge the qualities of the lens based on a sample with such a low resolution.

The cat was moving - lens at full aperture. Not the best combination for a sharp hand-held shot in evening light ! It came towards me every time I tried for a better shot.

As soon as the light is better, and the cat has been fed, I will try again.

And I have been able to get a reasonable "Zebra" version of the 15-leaf iris version - now arrived, but weather so poor today I was unable to try it out in good light.

CZJ Sonnar 180 2.8 on Pentax K-3. Processed in DxO 10 and DxO FilmPack. The shooting conditions were challenging : strong wind, dreary day, manual focus. Setting a tripod was also quite problematic : good luck finding an even surface. All of the shots are done at F2.8. The lens is not exactly sharp wide open, so focusing even through live view and with magnification was hard. Some more shots from that session : https://flic.kr/s/aHskmDukDZ
