I'm in love with my CZJ Sonnar 2.8/200mm, that's my favourite lens. With sun-shade unscrewed and put in proper frontal working position it looks even more anihilating
The focussing ring of this lens is stiff, I don't think new grease helps a lot
When the weather becomes better (we have very dull wether here now) I'd like to make and compare some photos from CZJ with DA* 2.8/200mm, which I'm also falling in love right now

-----
Also my copy is stiff, I'm thinking to send it at service for a checkup.
In these hours I'm comparing the CZJ with the Tamron 70-200 2.8 just arrived. By the firsts shots I can say that... the Sonnar is a great lens!

Unfortunately there is not enough proper sample images in good quality to judge the lens.

I have this lens in an EXA mount. I use it on a SONY Nex-5n.

There is a group on Flickr dedicated to the Trioplan 100 2.8 with lots of examples to check out.

I think it is a fun lens to use wide open and am very impressed when you stop down as to clarity, colour, and contrast

Carl Zeiss Jena Biotar 58/2 T

I recently posted a review of my 17-bladed version of the Biotar. Carl Zeiss 58mm F2 Biotar T Lens Reviews - Carl Zeiss Lenses - Pentax Lens Review Database

Overall, this famous old lens is a good performer, but the MFD of 0.9m is a drawback (later versions are 0.5m). However, I've discovered the joys of using extension tubes with the lens and this has added something extra to its use, close-up.

Not long ago I acquired Carl Zeiss Jena MC Sonnar Electric 135 mm F 3.5. So here are my first impressions.

Build quality. Top notch. The barrel is made mostly of metal, with the exception of the aperture ring and Auto / Manual switch. I had to have my lens serviced, because the focusing ring was extremely stiff and infinity started around 10 meter mark. After the service everything functions perfectly. The built in lens hood is quite a useful feature, although I think, that a larger hood, when mounted on APS-C would be better.
Handling. Although the lens is far from being the lightest device (lens + k3 weighs around 1200 gramms) it is quite compact and easy to use hand-held. The focus throw is quite long, but it makes precise focusing on shorter distances easier. At f3.5 infinity focusing can be quite tricky. You would expect it to start after the 30 meters mark on the barrel. In reality it roughly is several hundred meters away. At f5.6 no such behaviour is observed, although I would like to point out that "sharpest" infinify starts somewhat further than the promised 30 meters on the barrel.
Optical properties. The lens is quite sharp starting from the widest aperture and sharpness seems uniform across the frame. Chromatic aberrations are quite strong in certain situations, but Lightroom handles them quite well. The images produced by the lens have good colours and contrast. Yet I would like to point out, that it largely depends on the software you use for post processing. The lens handles backlight relatively well, yet I would not call the results exceptional.

Some sample shots. Click to see the full size.

How big is the Meyer 100mm? I don't recall the Pentacon 135mm being all that big. (Now the 200, on the other hand... )

Both length and diameter approx. 50 mm, size about half compared to Pentacon 135.
