Not bad? I'd say that's very impressive! Lovely shots with remarkable detail, considering both the lens and the ISO.

I finally got one good copy of the Olympia Sonnar 200mm f2.8 with electric pins for my VLC3, and the lens is as good as I was expecting:

Looking through my photos that have been Explored on Flickr, I noticed that two of the top three photos, by numbers of faves, were taken with East European lenses.

I don't think I've posted either of the photos here in the Club, which seems a bit remiss, and I'd like to share them now.

The first was taken by a Carl Zeiss Jena Pancolar 50/1.8, radio-active version. This really accentuates the Pancolar style of painterly bokeh wide open - I've given it a big pp boost. If I counted up all the faves I've received on Flickr per lens (haven't done it), this lens could well be the winner. There's something about how it renders/colours that is very appealing.

The second photo was taken by a Carl Zeiss Jena Biotar T, 58/2, the early version with 17 blades.

CZJ Tessar 50/2.8

On Sony a5000 body via a M42-PK ring and PK-NEX adapter. Stopped down to f8. Visibility was not good so a Tiffen UV filter and ACR's dehaze filter was used. Finished up with ON1's Kodachrome emulation.

Interesting pictures in this thread! What are the least expensive lenses to shop for if one is looking to begin this fascinating East German Lens adventure? M42 mounts, unless m42 adapters are cheap and available?
