I will soon have some shots posted here, taken with the TC + DA*300/4 + K5 ... soon.

In the meantime, some questions:

Anyone here finding this combo a bit tedious to AF properly vs. the DA*300/4 alone ?
I am finding that I am not nailing as many "keepers" with the TC, however when it's on focus, it's very good.
Also: at f5.6 ... does anyone find it a bit "too shallow" when focusing on closer subjects?

Still trying to get used to it, but it's getting there.

Great shots with that set up Crooski ! I also have that " Stack of Primes", but haven't tried it on that TC yet. I am definitely going to have to give it a whirl.

This will also take you to my Flickr page where I have started a specific album for the images taken with the new TC and the DA*300/4.

Cheers!

With the release of the 1.4x, Ricoh/Pentax made me buy both the TC and a DA* 300mm within a month time. The TC arrived yesterday and I haven't been able to photograph a lot with it. At least here is one of the first photos with the combination 300mm + 1.4x!

Lens with the converter behaves perfectly, sharpness is good, autofocus little slower, but it is noticeable only when goes to work without a converter .
In difficult conditions, such as on water in a sunny day, at max aperture (4.0) are sometimes color render a little purple, but since 6.3 this effect completely disappears.

PS. I think that on this forum image from Flickr look a bit blurry. Or not?

PPS. Sorry for my "Google Translate English"

Now this TC really works wonders with the DA*300/4 ...

---------- Post added 08-01-14 at 09:30 PM ----------

And one more for today, showing that this combo works just as well at high ISO: ... ISO 6400.

It works nicely with the DA*50-135 too.
Wow--it does! I'll need to see more results with older (A, F & FA) lenses before I pull the trigger.
