(Xposted with the 300mm club)

A shot of a Least Sandpiper [Calidris minutilla] during my 30-days canoeing trip, up in the taiga of Northern Quebec (https://goo.gl/maps/rxUDF).

I know it is common around here too, but I was so close, and I got a detailed photo ... no cropping.

Can't you see the bird's shadow on the water ?

Shot with K3 + DA*300mm + HDTC1.4x, handheld (but lying on the sand)

1/1000s, f5.6, ISO400

Bécasseau minuscule / Least Sandpiper [Calidris minutilla]
by Curculion, on Flickr

Another good example that the 300mm+HDTC is a very good combination...

Has anyone tried this TC with the F*300? How were the results?

TC on my wish list

I"m very impressed with the IQ of all your shots with this TC. I definitely will be getting one but as I have been on a bit of a lens buying binge this year (4 new lens's so far) I have decided to put it on my Christmas wish list.

Wow! Amazing image quality. Were they all taken in the wild? So that's 784mm without taking the crop factor into account?

Outstanding! The little doubt I had that the 560mm was capable of great images is utterly dispelled. But with the 1.4TC? I am amazed and excited to see this. It clearly takes an excellent photographer to get the best out of them but thank you so much for posting these amazing images

Thanks

Hi Guys
Thanks for all the comments. This lens is just phenomenal focus is just spot on every time, and as for detail it speaks for itself. All these are wild birds taken from the vehicle with a window mount and gimbal head. As for the comment about the price, I want to see something from any manufacturer that is going to give you this at the price point. We must remember this is 1176mm including the crop factor.
