Outstanding! I may need to sell all three used to be top of the line my 1.4x's and get this one

Tripod or handheld?

Wow! Amazing image quality. Were they all taken in the wild? So that's 784mm without taking the crop factor into account?

Outstanding! The little doubt I had that the 560mm was capable of great images is utterly dispelled. But with the 1.4TC? I am amazed and excited to see this. It clearly takes an excellent photographer to get the best out of them but thank you so much for posting these amazing images

I agree with all of the above comments . Excellent images! Nice work!

I LOVE this kit more and more!
this make my FA*250-600mm less used these times unfortunately! (I am getting lots of good shots without using the BIG/Heavy arsenal). I Also wonder if I wouldn't sell my F*300 too... hummm...

Very nice shot love the angle. I will take the 250-600 if you want to get rid of it.

Here's a so-so shot of semipalmated sandpipers during fall migration at the pier in Rivière-du-Loup, Québec.
DA*300/4 and K5 plus the TC:

Lovely! Reminds me of a group I saw at Parris Island (toward the end of the video) back in 2002.

That looks like there was a mix of semipalmated plovers and sandpipers in there.
Nice video of an obviously good birding spot!

Thanks for sharing.

You're welcome! Yes, I was amazed by the variety of birds. I also saw Brown Pelicans diving in the same area.

My first outing with the 1.4TC coupled with Sigma 500/4.5 lens. Overall I do not feel this combination worked that well, too many out of focus shots even in bright sunlight. I am looking forward to try it with the DA300/4 lens. I think that extra half stop on the 500 just puts consistent performance out of reach. However if I need the reach it is there.

Some photos taken with the 250-600/5.6 + HDTC1.4x (with the K-3) earlier this August

Even if the HDTC is recommended for f4 lenses and greater apertures, it still able to get decent results with a f5.6 !

They are pretty good..

I tried my 1.4x and FA* 250-600mm the other week and the results were basically rubbish. Mind you, the light was awful, that day.

Anyone else have reports on this TC with FA* lenses? Clearly it's terrific with the DA* 300.
