Last Weekend's Wheeling Vintage Raceboat Regatta on the Ohio River in Wheeling, WV. All taken with my K-3 III using a DA* 60-250mm mounted on a Pentax HD 1.4X Teleconveter. I really like this combo. These are all crops.

I was lucky that this picture was one of the sharpest of the series**, despite the basic zoom lens, the Pentax HD D-FA 28-105mm f/3.5-5.6 (variable aperture), coupled with a 1.4x rear-converter (so max f/8 at 147mm).
On this picture, I was at f/11, 1/125s and ISO 125 at 147mm. This image has been significantly cropped. The high luminosity allowed me to lower the ISO for more sharpness. But it was not easy ...

**In fact, out of 17 pictures I took while trying to get close to it, I only got 3 good ones, including this one with the hoopoe rolled up!
I was very happy !

I haven't given up on the da 1.4x tc, but I often find it hard to use handheld, expecially with the da* 300. This is probably the best shot I got yesterday when the Cedar Waxwings invaded the front yard Bradford Pear tree.

This one with the K-3 + HDTC1.4x + FA*250-600...
Not the best as they recommend the HDTC for lenses with fixed f4 at the least... you need very good light, that wasn't the case here, so had to Sharpen AI the bird's feathers to make them pop out!
