The Pentax HD PENTAX-DA AF Rear Converter 1.4X AW (with any lens) Club

As the new rear converter has had a lot of attention lately I thought maybe it should be part of the lens club section so here are a few shots with various lenses using the 1.4x on my K-5II. Please feel free to post more pics as it could be useful to others thinking about buying.

420mm on a Sigma DG EX 100-300mm f4

420mm on a PENTAX-DA* 300mm F4 ED [IF] SDM

350mm on a PENTAX-DA*60-250mm F4 ED [IF] SDM

840mm on a PENTAX-FA* 250-600mm F5.6 ED[IF]

@ Mike.P:

I assume this TC does a good job for you in terms of IQ with the DA*300/4 ?
Looks good to me .... thanks for showing the images.

Personally I think it was made to work at it's best on the DA* 300mm with all other lenses being a bonus.
It certainly seems that way to me anyway ... especially when you consider all the above shots were handheld.

I'm waiting for a clear sky to try a moon shot next.

That is good to know.
I have been planning to get this TC for quite some time, for the K5 + DA*300/4 but I also have been holding until more feedback is available .... so this thread will be a great place to visit.

HD Rear Converter 1.4x and DA* 60-250

Three from me, all at the long end of the DA* 60-250.

All pp'd. Fair to say that the TC plus 60-250 outperforms my skill levels at the moment! In combination with the 60-250, it very clearly outclassed my AFA 1.7x (which I sold within a couple of hours of making a comparison).

NB the 'pheasant' shot has had Photoshop CC's shake reduction feature applied and the vignetting has been added in post. This picture was also taken through a tight chain-link fence (I focussed passed it).

Love that last shot of the soaring duck.

Anyone tried using the TC with the Tamron 70-200mm F/2.8? It's my longest lens and I'd love to get more reach in a (slightly more) affordable way than buying a new lens.

Very nice shots. What a difference with Ricoh behind Pentax - products get introduced!

I would be interested in pictures/experiences using the TC with the Sigma 500

It works nicely with the DA*50-135 too. Some real world examples:
