I use my camera as my notebook while conducting plant surveys. Since I got my K10D about a month ago this lens has hardly left it. It's just so infuriatingly...
adequate. The rendering is excellent, and it focuses just-about-close-enough in macro mode, and when I can shoot a subject outside of the very unhelpful non-macro minimum focusing distance I love the framing and look at 35mm wide open. Basically, this lens has convinced me that what I really want is a 35mm macro limited. But in the meantime, this thing just soldiers on. The plastic focusing ring on the front disappeared while crashing around in heavy brush recently. I unsuccessfully listed it for sale twice in the past. I'm pretty sure I'm just going to have to keep using it until it breaks to finally justify a purchase of the 35 limited.
35mm wide open at minimum focusing distance, the rest are at 70mm in the "macro" range.
