My new acquisition to go alongside a Leitz Portugal Colorplan 90mm 2.5 from Jean Poitiers .

From what I’ve read they have different optical designs - the earlier silver one has 5 elements 4 groups, and the black one 6 elements 4 groups. Haven't used the German one in earnest, except to test it, and it has a different min/max focus distance. If it's as sharp and colourful as the Portuguese, I'll be very happy.

Here are some recent photos from the Portuguese one.

Projection lens on Fuji mirrorless

I recently acquired a used Fujifil X-E1 from my local B&M store and finally got around to a first try with a projection lens.

Here, the Angénieux 50/1.2 via a Chinese K-mount extension tube set and a K-to-FX adapter. I have order a C-mount adapter to see if I can get the rear element closer tio the sensor, thus less "macro" magnification. More images later with this one plus a few others in the stable ...

Inrteresting read, looks like a fun project with a great end result. I always find it a bit curious when economy is listed as a reason for a project like this, though - with all the parts and time involved I'm not at all sure it can be called a particularly cheap lens anymore. There are enough good reasons for hacking lenses to not having to invent justifications

Two recent shots from a Leitz Colorplan 90/2.5 Made in Germany, using a Russian bellows. I don't normally add a frame/text to photos but it seemed appropriate for the first shot.

I dusted off the Schneider-Kreuznach Cinelux Ultra 125/2.0 (an adapted 70mm IMAX cinema projector lens) for some Christmas portraits with the 645Z. It's not an easy lens to focus, but it repays patience.
