I agree there, I promised I won't buy another lens until 2009 unless I won't earn money by photography. But I'm already thinking about DA70 f2.4 ltd and DA21 f3.2 ltd

I was torn between those two, I went for 40ltd. I don't know if there is a point of having both. If you have FA35 and want more, get FA43 ltd or FA 50. I think DA40 is too close...

Yes, I agree, I thought about buying FA43 instead but I also own a F50 and A50, so I think they all are quite close. In fact I am also considering (and saving for) DA* 50-135mm. I really like primes, specially ltd editions but I think DA* will fit me more right now.

Dont know.. to many thinks to think about... :ugh:

Isn't the 40mm 2.8 a pancake lens? If so, why does it come in such a big box (as opposed to an envelope?)

yup it's a pancake. it comes in a box because there's a nice faux leather bag for the lens and they have to stuff in the usual pentax manuals and warranty card

beaumont the box only looks big because that lens cap is really small.

Got mine today as expected, and I can concur with everyone about this lens. It's unbelievable, as a matter of fact I don't think that it will be coming off of the camera for a while.
I have to agree here...
It's joy to cary K100 around with DA40 on it. It's so small and light and it delivers and makes me to think about my pics and framing...

those two explained it. To make ti easier. the cap is 31mm thread only. The DA40 box is maybe just under of 2/3 of the size of DA18-55 box...

My wife recently switched to Pentax (K-5), and she already has a nice collection: DA15, FA77, & DA50-135 (this one arrived yesterday). Not all Limited, but good enough! So I complement with my DA21, DA40, FA50/1.4, Tamron 90 Macro & Tamron 70-200, plus a few more, including a Tamron 10-24.

All the best,

Tord
