The 01 is easily the sharpest lens on the Q, and it also makes the Q a truly pockatable camera (I find the 02/06 protrude too much to make it elegant, yet to try the 08). To me the 01 is the lens that the Q is built for, and as such it stays on my Q (and now my QS-1) the majority of the time. It eats details.

I'm very much a novice to the Q (and manual photography in general), but already love it --- so easy to manage. A few try with the 01 (these are basically unprocessed, with sometimes a little bit of contrast added):

Based on the many comments in this thread on the 01 Prime's sharpness, I must be the odd one out: I always had trouble getting truly sharp images out of mine. As a result it took a backseat to the 02 zoom even though I would have liked to have had it on the camera more. I probably just got a less than perfect copy, as it remained just a bit unsharp at any aperture and focusing distance. And perhaps I was judging a bit harshly, considering how inexpensive it is; it's at least as good as the 18-55 lenses on my SLRs. But the 02 zoom seemed to get into the same tack-sharp territory as the M 50mm f1.7 when used carefully. Even so, I cannot argue with the fact that the 01 prime "drew light" beautifully, as it did in these photos.
