Zucchini after hail storm

This first image was taken with the SMC-Pentax M 100mm f/4 Dental Macro. For comparison with a modern lens, the second photo was taken a few minutes later with the DA* 50-135 f/2.8. No attempt was made to exactly compare exposures, etc. The object was to see what modern lens, with all its enhancements could do compared to an oldie but goodie. The holes in the leaves are from a hail storm a few days ago, not insects.

M 100/4, ISO 100, f/11, 1/8 second.

Both shots on tripod. There was a slight lighting change between the two, and the tripod is not exactly in the same place, but both were taken at f/11.

This is with the DA* 50-135 f/2.8 for comparison. ISO 100, f/11, 1/13", 80mm

Saw my rapidly growing nephews recently.

All M50 at f/1.4:

Straight from camera - need a bit of tweaking to show their best IMO.

The M85/f2 tends to under expose by 1-1.5 stop with my K100D. You might want to adjust it manually.

I like the 3rd one.

Thanks for the tip. My wife took the 3rd one with her first effort with a manual focus lens (and SLR probably) - better than most of mine

M 85mm @F/2

I haven't shot with this lens in forever

It was on my camera at the time so I just took a quick shot because of how cool the red filter looked

M 50/1.7

The venerable M50/1.7 on an *istDS in Manual mode with center weighted metering.

I recall making almost the same shot with this same lens on an K1000 body about 30+ years ago.

This is about as simple as it gets.

One with the M85/2 from today. It's amazing what this lens can do. Mind you, this is a 100% crop Shot at around f/4
