SMC Pentax M 400/5.6

We've had some spectacular fall weather this week. That said the heavy morning frost says winter isn't far off.

The local Robins are fuelling up for the southern migration on the local Mountain Ash berries. One of the guys posed for a bit. I posted the first one elsewhere and it is by far the best of the series but the other two tell part of the story as well.

Sadly, I didn't have time to move to get that distracting white pillar out of the background on this one.

In any case the series shows off the great colour palette of the M series glass.

Tom G

Sorry, have to quote and post the picture again.

That is great.
Thanks!

I have to give the credit to San Francisco, though. It just makes me look good. :P

Think big reason I like 400/5.6 is almost 30 years Ive had m50/1.4,
My reaction no differnt than turbo's, just 30 years apart.
Like that shot Turbo, hope to see more. Tom continues to astound with m400/5.6

1- trusty m50.1.4 on ZXm, kodak gold 200. app. f/8 @ 1/125 (10/07/2010)
love this lens, could see rear OOF area at dogs butt,in viewfinder
(Im the one on the left)she's knocked tripods over before,Im a little tense here

2- m400/5.6, like 400 because of that 50 and M series consistant build quality.
Guy and gyro around river alot, gets maybe 50-75 feet high and 'cruises'
day after dog and I sat for 'portrait, same location, action about 1 and 1/4 miles away.

Could not decide were to look. But the girl had a boyfriend, so I focused on the BMW.

Oh, I forgot: k200d with Pentax-M zoom 1:4,5 / 80-200mm @4.5

I prefer a cirrus white Saab 900 sedan any day. In fact, I do. I drive a black '88 SPG and an '88 turbo. Both two door, though.

Glad to see another Saab driver who is also a fellow Pentaxian! We're a rare breed, indeed.

Last year, I infected a fellow saab driver from my hometown with pentaxism. The virus is spreading! ;-)

Having owned, besides two Saab 90, two CC (an '84 16S - spg on the other side of the pond - and an '83 deLuxe) and a platinum blue turbo 8 sedan, I did not want another sedan. CC are so much more versatile - and beautiful.
I ended up buying this severely used turbo 16 sedan. Can't explain why, probably compassion. With a bit of tender loving care, the abused creature recovered quickly and has rewarded me with 130.000 kilometres in the last two and a half years.

By the way: no postprocessing on the last pictures (Munich, BMW, and autummn saab) except resizing.

That's the Saab spirit! I bought my very '88 SPG for $400 USD and my very abused '88 turbo for $500 USD and both have been reliable as the year is long. Over the last two years they have taken me up and down the entire west coast of the United States without a single hiccup (other than operator error, of course).

I'll get some pics up with my M lenses soon.

Thanks Jay,

It's been a while. Busy with the young family no doubt.

This guy posed in a picturesque spot and I happened to be nearby.

Take care
