In under the wire!

Actually I'm doing the same thing in the DA 15ltd Mind Control thread for the first 1000 posts, and I'm finding it really hard to pare my faves down to 25.

.
Well jay, I brought the K-7 and M 85mm F/2 ready to take some shots. Right as I began I got the call that my grandpa was dieing so that ended and I rushed to the hospital (he's doing fine now) I did get a couple, though poor, but I'll post them anyways.

Nice work with the M 28/3.5, Eddie. My daughter-in-law has our copy. It is a great lens. The first thing I noticed when I bought it, brand new, in the late 1970's was the low distortion. The next thing was those gorgeous colors it produces. With the DA* 16-50/2.8 I have the range covered with another great lens, so it was not overly painful to part with it.

First sorry if this has been asked before but I can't search just the M club thread. I did a few searches and didn't find what I was looking for.

I have a k200 and am looking a few M mounts f/1.7 at around $50 is this too much? Also when I check some compatibility checks it seems that M mounts don't always like the k200 any insight?

"Some recent bodies cannot use M (and K) lenses or only with some limitations. An example are the *ist D and K (digital) series"

from here PentaxForums.com - Pentax Lens Reviews & Lens Series Explanation

Thanks for any help.
See my post above, both pics taken with this lens. I think $50 sounds good, especially if the lens is in good shape. You will need to look up how to use fully manual lenses on a DSLR but they are fun, much much cheaper than AF equivalents, and they build a better understanding of photography.

thanks, i have it covereed with my 24-70 sigma 2.8 which is faster af etc, but damn it's heavy, i don't mind the MF and for walkabout i can carry my 28,50,100,135 for about the same weight as the sigma
i love the colour off the old lenses, really punchy (though this one was punched up a bit in post to emulate a slide as that's how i would have shot it on film in the past and love the punchier colours of slides (i am a huge velvia fan)

My latest addition.

SMC Pentax M* 300mm 1:4
Very sharp wide open, surprisingly easy to focus, great colour and contrast.

Pentax K-r 1/1000 ISO200 F4.0
Minimal PP

Cheers and Merry Christmas from Jack.

Nate, I love the second shot--it has a bit of magic to it. Is that a hiking trail I can see climbing up the left side to snow line?

Jeweltrail and Hambino:

Thanks! As for your question, I'm not sure. I see the part of the Richardson Highway in the center. I just took that as a quick snapshot earlier this summer. It would make quite a trail if that's what it is
