Second try with the 50mm 1.7

Seems like I'm having a hard time with focus...in fact it's a bit difficult to see if you have the right focus with that tiny view finder...

I use this product: Pentax O-ME53 Magnifying eyepiece some people think it helps, some think it's a waste of money.

Doesn't your camera have some kind of viewfinder focus indicator? I am currently using a standard K2000 and it does give a positive indication when something is "in focus" through the viewfinder. It's still a struggle but I also found using the "spot" focus option the best bet.

Personally, I think the focusing is going to be the most difficult thing as per manual lenses, you need to get know your camera all over again.

PS. make sure your diopter is adjusted correctly...

Yes when focus is correct, there is a "bip" that tell the picture can be shoot..but..is it because my body move slightly that put the subject out of focus ?..I don't know ...

You must have a shutter speed of at least the focal length or double the focal length.
e.i. for 50mm shutter speed should be 1/60 or 1/100 sec. even with SR in function.

Focusing with that "bib" is not that accurate, especially when you begin your focusing from front of your subject. Try focusing behind the target at first, and then slowly focus it on place. It is better in that way I think(atleast for me).

Thanks to this forum, I have acquired M 50mm f/2 & M 135 f/3.5 lenses [M 28 f/2.8 & M 50 f/1.7 on their way]. They are great and I enjoy a lot shooting with them..

These are from my M 135 f/3.5 lens:
