This is not a great photo in terms of sharpness, but I think it's worth sharing.

M 400/5.6, hand held. Love this lens.

I discovered yesterday that the M200/4 is can be very sharp.

I think it's worth framing Design.

A few from the zoo

Went to Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo Yesterday. Brought my Pentax SMC M 200 F4 mounted to the Samsung NX100.
The 2 hummingbird pics were massaged a bit in Preview, otherwise all ooc JPEGs resized in Aperture.

M400/5.6 + a 1.4x-s

Finally getting a better handle on using my M 400 with the extender. Tomorrow, sun permitting, I will do the same shot with the AFA 1.7X instead of the A 1.4X - and maybe even both! It might be fun to use a 952 mm f/13.3. It will probably turn out a bit better if I stop down to f/8 (f/19). I'll for sure need the sun for that! The old K10 is not at its best over ISO 400, so that will factor into the shot. There is no post processing except cropping and resizing.

This one is
K10D, M 400/5.6 @ f/8, A 1.4X-S
ISO 400, 560mm, 1/180" @ f/11 effective

Boy, there are so many great photos in this thread.

I just remembered that I recently took some shots with my 100mm Macro at the Cloisters. The Cloisters - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

All photos taken with my Pentax 100mm M macro.

A Lion head fountain. F8.0 @ 1/10 second.

A closeup of the above. F8.0 @ 1/15 second.

Relief figures on the wall. These figures are about 12" tall. F8.0 @ 1/45 second.

A closeup of the above. F8.0 @ 1/15 second.

F8.0 @ 1/15 second.

Camera on a tripod for all shots.

If you're ever in Manhattan, try to visit The Cloisters; there are so many things to photograph there. Fort Tryon Park, within which The Cloisters is situated, has a lot of nice shots to take also.

Something to note: The Cloisters will allow you to use a tripod all day between Tuesday and Friday. On Saturdays and Sundays, they ask that you be done using it by noon, as this is the time when the majority of groups show up.

Nice shots, Mike. That 100 macro is one sharp lens, isn't it? I love mine. There is a "self portrait" in my gallery taken with it. The figurine is about 4 inches tall. (10 cm).

No. 1 Close-Up Lens

I realized that I'd never tried my old No. 1 Close-Up lens (that I bought from a forum member) on my M lenses, so I thought I'd test it out on the M28 2.8 and M50 1.7. Here's a few test shots just for fun- I think it makes even the 28/2.8 bokeh look good.

M28 @ 2.8

M50 @ 1.7

M50 @ f3.2- a honeycomb of hexes!

and one from outside, M50 @ 1.7

How have you been, Albert?

It's good to hear from you again, and thank you for the kind words.

Yes, the 100 M macro certainly is a very sharp lens.

The M 100mm macro, my DA70mm and my Lensbaby are in a three-way tie for my favorite lens.

This thread has inspired me to start using it more often.

I have a list of ideas written down, and I'll try to start shooting some of them this weekend.

I didn't realize I had used my 100 M macro recently at The Cloisters 'till I saw this thread.

See you all again soon.

Mike
