Can I join?

Here's my SMC M 100mm f4.0 macro with a very lovely model, Arwen, from Lord Of The Rings. 16-45 @ f11 @ 1/6 sec ambient light with flash.

And I promised her a portrait for her time, so here it is.
SMC M 100mm Macro @ f4.0 @ 1/125 sec.

I love this lens!

pentaxkat, i really like your bird shot.
fearview, very nice shot.
Jay, love the series of pics you took with the SMC M 100 f/2.8. Very nice colours and it's sharp.
Jandon, i especially love the lighting and colours in pic 1 and 2. Love the stare on the little babies face.
FruitLooPs, love the bike shot and the bird shot, very nice. What type of birds are they?
Mike, love your macro shot.

Saw this car today and loved it's colour. Couldn't help but take a pic with the 50/1.7. Love this lens, no PP done on this pic.

Thanks to Jay, i received my M 135/3.5 today. You're a legend Jay, thanks.
Couldn't take any outdoors shots this afternoon because it's raining, so just took a couple of my cat. First one is 1 sec - second one 1.5 sec - 3rd one 2 secs - all handheld.

Can't wait to try his lens outdoors.

Being a Ford fan ... that colour is known as Blaze ... I have seen a number of XR8 and 6s with the metallic Gold on black numberplates ... looks awesome.

LOL!! Jandon. Nice pic.

I took the M 135/3.5 ( thanks again, Jay. ) for it's first little stroll around the neighbhour this morning. This is not a focal length i'm familiar with, so it took a little while to judge distances.

This is the first thing i saw when i went out into the backyard. The wind must have blown this up against the garage wire overnight.

The price of unleaded petrol in Oz at the moment.

Pretty purple.

This was taken over the top of one of my neighbours roof. It's looking out to the distant Blue Mountains. The Blue mountains are full of Eucalypt trees which emit a blue vapour from the Eucalypt oil. This can be seen in the atmosphere.

Driving on the correct side of the road.

This dog in the park was very interested in the noise of the Sammy.

This huge golf ball is at the side of a golf shop.

A hibiscus.

All taken with either M 28 2.8 or M 50 1.7(which I bought off Jay!). I also enjoy my M 135 3.5.

Btw, Hello to All as I haven't introduced myself or posted much around here.
Got the K100D Super from my Girlfriend for Christmas and have been learning photography.
Not learning quickly I would say, but having fun along the way.

Nice shots, Paul! Good to hear from you again, welcome.

Anne! Nice! I think I can your progression 'in' to the 135mm focal length with each
subsequent shot - you started to 'see' at 135mm, and I like the feel of the shots.

I really, really like the blue berries and hibiscus, but I also like the big golf ball - has a simple
telephoto feel to it I like. Very nice, happy you're happy & looking forward to some
more.

Oooohh!! Oooohhh!!!! /me LURVES the M 50/1.7!!!

All of these were heavily post-processed, some t the extent of masking/destroying original detail the lens effortlessly produces (I shot a lot of these using hyperfocusing so the details aren't really there anyways), but it still provides the feel of the wonderful perspective this lens offers on digital.

Hi all,

I think we have seen samples now from almost all the M primes in this thread. There have been some wonderful images - a testament to these fine old primes and their owners. The M zooms have been conspicuous by their absence. Does anyone use these old zooms in digital? I confess I've never been a fan of zoom lenses. My experience (limited) in digital has done little to change my mind. I took my M 75~150 f4 out this evening and came back with nothing worth keeping. I chalk this up to my inexperience but found the shoot frustrating. The lighting was bad and I found metering difficult. The green button seemed to over or underexpose everything. I'll try again later this week. Anyone have any samples from the M series zooms they care to show? I'd be curious to see how they perform. Id also be curious to hear your thoughts about these old zooms in the digital arena.

Cheers

Tom G
I've got a few from the SMC-M 80-200 that came along with the wife (mumble) years ago...
Here are two (links I hope) to Gallery photos of a Space Shuttle ferry flight.

Both were taken on the K100D.

These are all with the 50mm f/2.0 and a K10d. I am a compete novice when it comes to DSLR photography, so comments/suggestions/observations are greatly encouraged.

(The exposure and colors are a bit weird in the first one, but I can't figure out what about it is off. I can't seem to get it to look right in Lightroom.)

Yep, the lighting was pretty difficult, since.. there was almost no difference in light. It was too uniform. Anyway, I hope you don't mind I toyed around with your original JPEG (sorry for the crappy quality, but I didn't have the original RAW/JPEG)

ftpaddict, would you like me to send you the original RAW file? Or maybe you could just give a brief summary of what you did, and I can try it myself.
