Taken with the M85mm f/2, this is stitched from 7 or 8 images. The full resolution is 37MP but unfortunately Photobucket won´t let me upload a version larger than this one. Taken from the top of the Arc De Triomphe in Paris at either f/5.6 or f/8 (I can´t remember). It looks amazing on a large screen at high resolution.

While I´m on the M 85mm, it got some more use while I was in Paris:

I just secured an M 200mm f/4 in good condition on another forum. I haven´t received it yet but I´m looking forward to trying out a long telephoto prime. The review section seems to suggest it´s a good but not outstanding lens.

I think the cost/performance ratio is pretty damn good, but i wouldn't compare it to say an fa* 2.8

I'm definitely happy with mine though and i think it outperforms the zooms that aren't premium 2.8 zooms and rivals the lower priced variants
it also is nice an light and has the hood built in which are both good things

both from the 200 not long after i got it

I think it's a great lens, my biggest problem is where would I use this Prime lens...

Here's a comparison of 2 Pentax lenses, F 70-210 and M 200. The M is 1 1/2 stops faster but the zoom is more versatile. I use neither lens that often but I will reach for the zoom more times than the M...

My collection of gear is basic, with a Pentax K110D body, along with 18-55mm and 50-200mm kit lenses. So, I was happy to acquire my first prime lens, a mint Pentax-M 50mm f1.7 for $50 on eBay. What a value it is. Once I figured out how to stop down the aperture to lock the exposure, I discovered how easy it will be to use. Plus, it's nice that the camera beeps and a light flashes in the viewfinder when the subject is in focus. My eyes aren't what they used to be, but this will help.

I can't wait for Saturday to arrive to venture outside and make some photos with this simple and old but like-new beauty.

These were going for really cheap not too long ago. I think you can still pick up a copy for a very reasonable price.

Great looking shots - probably some of the best I've seen from this lens. I picked up one of these lenses this summer, but haven't used it a lot yet - maybe it's time!
