Nice shots Kris. That is a fantastic Museum, I visit every time I'm in London (along with the V&A and the Tate)

I like the rendering (particularly on my 50's) there is a Tak look so to speak that applies to a lot of them. I can also shoot in Av mode and up to f8 the metering is pretty accurate (though the focus screen gets dark)
It's also about rationalizing to the one mount. I wanted to keep a couple of the taks over K mount , and there was nothing in my K kit that would move the decision the other way (I still have an AF kit). first step was to get this balanced, the I also have a bunch of other stuff up to fund (or at least fund most of) a DA21, DA50, Fa77
Gotta agree with the points above Eddie! That Tak feel and the ability to use Av mode is almost priceless. But I've been using K mounts, M's and A's more and more recently especially the zooms. After a year or so of using Taks, I've found the M's and A's render a little more "cleaner" image, if there such a thing. Not necessarily sharper just cleaner. That and to be honest, changing an m42 v. k-mount is no contest. But if a Taumar 85/1.9 is offered at a reasonable cost, I'd buy it in a heartbeat and for the record, I'd never part with my Takumar collection

Nice shot's rick

I almost never use a Zoom, In fact my 24-70 2.8 ex dg sigma is next on the block going to a friend in Jamaica and the funds will cover a da21 on the local craigslist right now. Slowly my AF kit will become my ease of use daily kit with the taks for fun, this will put me at 14/21/35/50 in af and the 77 will come when i flog my bronica. I will keep the wr kit lens and i have a 28-200 tamron that isn't worth selling. Eventually I'll add the 100 and the 200 but for now the taks on tubes cover macro well, and the tak 200 will suffice (I rarely use 200 anyway)
this is as much about aging eyes as anything else

We got a mid day rainstorm and I got this shot from my apartment. I did change this considerably in Gimp to make it more dramatic. +75 contrast and -40 brightness. M135f3.5

Nice image but to be pedantic, there is no M series 50/1.2. Either it is a K or A series f/1.2 or perhaps an M 1:2, i.e., f/2?

I used my 28/3.5 as a compact little lens for taking my camera on site to a school I've worked on, using Av mode (and therefore maximum aperture) for convenience. Even used this way, it beats my kit lens for sharpness (and aberrations) when focussed correctly. The 49mm thread common to all the M lenses I own allows the use of a cheap linear polariser.
