Another good source for this sort of info is Bojidar Dimitrov's Pentax K-Mount Page, according to which the M50/2 was produced from 1979 to 1985.

Thanks, good info. I had that site in mind, but couldn't think of the name...

I've been baking ready for the midwinter celebrations.

One Christmas cake (a fruit cake), two Christmas puddings and some mincemeat (no, not meat but sweet fruity mixture one puts in small pies and eats with tea or coffee).

Pentax K20D, SMC Pentax-M 50mm f/1.7 lens.

Kris.

Thanks everyone for the swift replies, it is much appreciated. Yes, that's the lens, Paulh, I have, in the mad enthusiasm of being a Pentax owner again, readevery] review of all the lenses including the third party lenses to try and catch up with everything. But that was why I asked the question about the date of manufacture for that particular lens as in the reviews that wasn't mentioned. Reading the opinions and experiences of people using the Pentax Manual lenses was very interesting and enlightening to say the least. Anyway, thanks to you both, paulh and baro-nite for helping an over excited returnee to the Pentax Fold. Womble, if there's a knock on your door, it's me scrounging a jar of very nice looking Mincemeat!!

This beauty was shot in the Christmas market in Cologne, with a Pentax M50 f 1.7 @ (maybe) f3.5, 1/10, ISO 800, handheld, on a K-x ( I know the crop is not fine but I was in hurry )
