Excellent pictures.
Thanks Arnold and Peter,

The old M 400/5.6 is a lot of fun.

What kinda camera are you guys using? I've got five or six of these ancient Pentax lenses....a 50mm, 28mm, 135mm and a 35mm. The 135 is a narrow but well constructed lens. It does not have an auto setting. I've owned in it for years, but have been using Canon's. Now that I've got the K-01 I'm going to break out my old Takumar/Pentax screw mount lenses. Here's a pic I took this morning with my 1.4 50mm Takumar lens:

It's nothing to write home about and it's the first pic I've taken with my K-01.

I about jumped out of my skin when I saw this picture. I own these lenses and bought them when I bought my ME Super in 1984ish. I own a K100D and a K-01 (as well as a slew of old film Pentax's). I have not been able to figger out how I can use these "M" lenses. Can I put them in my K100D and get some use from them? ......or my new K-01?

The lenses have a wonderful quality feel about them. I have never used them for anything other than film, but I'm shooting digital now.

Of course you can use them on the newer cameras.

The mount is the same, you will just have to do full manual settings on the camera with them.. well, you can use stop down metering, but everything else will need to be manual.

Basic instructions for using these lenses on a Pentax DSLR - https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/pentax-beginners-corner-q/110658-using-ma...x-dslrs-f.html

The K100D doesn't have a green button, but you can use the AE-L button for stopdown metering. The old lenses are great and a lot of fun. I also have the M75-150 - it's a stellar little lens you'll enjoy using

It's been awhile since my M28f2.8 participated. I've become dependent on my DA15 and DFA100WR with my K24f2.8, DA40 and A50f1.7 filling the middle gap. This was shot with a cokin GND which helped even out the sky/trees exposure. I use a K-5 but with most Pentax cameras all you need to do is put the camera in M mode, set the aperture manually and then press the green button. Other brands do not have the green button functionality as far as I know.

Hi,

My first time post in this club. I bought myself a SMC M 50mm f1.7 a couple of weeks ago and it's quickly become one of my favourites. Here are a couple I've experimented with.

ISO 100, f2.8 (I think), 1/160 sec on the K-30

ISO 100, f1.7, 1/125 sec on the K-30
