SMC-M 50mm F1.7

Some shots from the lens that I used more than 25 years with Pentax Me super, and now it's on the K-5 IIs.

@ F5.6 with CPL filter

backlit test.

@ F1.7

The first and third shots are particularly good. I'm not a fan of narrow depth of field, so these two do it for me.

Here are a few from my recently-acquired M 35mm f/2, which turned out to be in close to mint condition, a lucky e-bay score. The first two of these were taken wide open as a test, the others are stopped down a little. Wide open, the lens has a bit of a glow to the images, but it's usable for certain shots. Stopped down to f/2.8 it's much better and very sharp.

I've only used this lens very briefly, but I think I like it a lot. The rendering reminds me of the 35 Ltd macro and the M 85/2.

I've had one for years John. I,m sure you'll like it.

Isn't it the smoothest manual focus lens you have ever used?

That last picture of the child is lovely. It makes one wonder what is so wonderful in her eyes that captured her attention so well!

Viewfinder of my Yashica Mat 124G, taken with the M 35mm f/2, cropped quite heavily.
