Thanks!

@pentaxpete: nice set of shots!

This one was taken with the "lowly" M50 f/2 on an *istD:

Lowly? I happen to like the M50/2, it was my first Pentax lens (on an ME Super body) and apart from flare when shooting into bright lights (on my K-5), it produces beautiful color and is actually pretty sharp. I think it's somewhat overshadowed by its "bigger brothers" the M50/1.7 and M50/1.4, but it's still a fine lens. And it's almost pancake-small.

I agree with everything you've said . I guess I should have put "quotes" around the word lowly!(I just did) What I meant was that the lens is plentiful and cheap, & generally not held in very high regard by many. As in, the "lowly 18-55 kit lens". To me it's a very capable lens, used within its limitations - great colors & contrast, and quite sharp from about f/5.6. Sadly, I let this particular copy of the lens get away (the older metal-bodied model). I now have the newer, more plasticky version that doesn't quite have the magic of the older one.

I just recently got the M50/2's "twin", the M28/2.8, which I have wanted since my film days. Got it from a good friend in mint condition. With lens caps on, you can't tell these lenses apart, and the M28/2.8 is also a very good lens with the same metal build quality.

Oh, and greetings from an Arlingtonian, though I'm now living abroad.

These are from the M 35mm f/2.

And this wasn't taken with an M lens I'm afraid, it was taken with the 21mm DA ltd, but it shows my fast wide, normal and tele M lenses.

I absolutely love my SMC-M 50mm f/2. I bought it with an adaptor for my Lumix G10, but now that I got a K-30 I ditched the adaptor and use it as it's meant to be used. 8) I find it an absolute joy to use - and a lot of fun. It also gives great results - including two of the three Flickr 'Explores' I've had - all since getting the K-30, mind you.

And my local railway station last week:

I also like this rainbow lorikeet peeking at me:

I'm also a big fan of the 50 f/2. It was nice on my Lumix but really brilliant on my K-30. Mine must be an older one; it feels wonderfully solid and confidence-inspiring.
