M50 f/1.4 on K-01. Either wide open or f/2. I've been using the step-down ring hood approach, and it has, indeed, improved the contrast of large-aperture images.

Nice capture and good to know on the contrast ... where did you find your step-downs; just curious because I'd like to try this out ... Salut, J

Depends upon the size of the block ($/pd ratio) ... I have seen some really high prices at a few "specialty shops" ... I'll try to get an image ... it can be breath-taking for certain brands !

Oh yeah, nice capture, too ... TFS, J

Thanks. I had to use two - a 49 to 37 and a 37 to 28. I also got a little, tiny 28mm cap. Got it all from ebay.

Oh no, PF members have exhausted China's supply of 49-28 rings. Again.

It's very sharp when well stopped down. Of course one can say the same of many lenses, but the M28/2.8 is a lens I've always liked. To me it's up there with the M50/1.7 as best value in Pentax lenses. (That said, I don't use either lens much any more (too much LBA, too little time) and I will probably pass them along so that someone else can learn the joys of using them.)
