I'm not an expert on dog breeds, just an animal over.

Mike

A good friend of mine once had a Ridgeback. It was a very cool dog. Fearless yet very easy to get along with, especially around children. Other dogs were making a BIG mistake if they showed any aggression toward either him, his master.

Which "300" would that be? I can't possibly imagine ANYTHING being sharper than the FA 50mm f:2.8.... but then, there are a LOT of lenses I haven't tried!
Sorry. Meant to type DA 300*. With the exception of focal length, i'm curious to see which is sharper.

Here we are , another LBA enabler. One day I will get that lens...

Tested 75-150mm as a portrait wide open. Need to test it with flash.

I wished I had a DA 300.... but, my wad has been shot for the foreseeable future. Too many lenses, camera bodies, wine, women and song!

Claiming the FA 50 was the sharpest he had is all it takes to enable LBA for me. I was only doing my part by planting the seed for others.

Beautiful results with this little M-zoom - you did it justice !
I expect it to gain more popularity with submitters such as yourself, for it is badly under appreciated at the moment ..
(got myself a pristine copy some time ago and love it to bits !)

O.K., I'll do my part in advancing the popularity of the little 75-150mm. I'm expecting a new K-50 in the mail today, so I'll give both the new camera AND the lens in question a workout. Results to follow.

Killer image! Love the detail and sharpness. Another lens I own but have used hardly at all. I must, I must! That little sucker is made like a bank vault, too!

Thanks! I recently got the M200. This was my first outing with it, and I have to say that I already enjoy using it. And yeah, it feels really solid too.

There is an undeniable quality of build on the older Pentax-M lenses. I own several, going from the 28mm, f:2.8, 50mm f:1.4, f:1.7 & f:2.0, the 135mm f:3.5, 200mm f:4, the 400mm f:5.6 ( mine is a K model), the 75-150mm f:4 and the 80-200mm f:4.5. All are very worthy lenses and not a bad one in the bunch! If I were to try and eliminate each, beginning with the "worst" first, it would be a very difficult task, indeed!

Not long ago, I took out the M 80-200mm attached to my older K2000 and was amazed at just how sharp that lens really is/was! I guess I had forgotten how good it was because it doesn't see daylight very often. So many lenses, so little time!

I completely agree with you. That's part of the reason why I started carrying two bodies around. Yesterday, I had the DA 300* on one body, and the M200 on the other. It worked out great for what I was doing (boats and birds from the same dock). When the 300 was too much, I just picked up the other body with the M200 on it.

I have the M28 2.8, two of the M50 1.7 (I liked it so much, I had to have another), M50 2.0, M100 2.8, and M200.

I must say that yesterday night I got a little disapointed with the color rendition of the M28mmf2.8 with respect to the K24mmf2.8 and the FA28mmf2.8 ...

The images are in the order I listed the lens ...

From today, M75-150 again. I had a chance to compare crops with Vivitar on the same subject, and surprisingly they both good, and 75-150 seems even sharper.
M75-150 is just a bit difficult to focus for me.
Cropped, then more for close up.
