A lovely demonstration of sharpness, bokeh and great color in the classic M 50 1.7. Thanks for posting.

Paul you're going to make me pull mines or of the closet and start shooting with it again.

That's a great idea! I know I don't give my copy enough work - I just don't use that focal length very much.

Some great shots on here - I recently added the 135/f3.5 M to my collection of primes (DA 15 Ltd, DA 35 Ltd, DA 70 Ltd) as a longer option that still takes 49mm filters. I've found it a little finnicky to use on occasion, but it produces good results when you get it right. Unfortunately, that's something I still struggle a little with having gotten into photography in the Golden Age of Autofocus! Shots can be seen full-size on flickr, just click.

Unhindered by Gravity by Callan S
Taken with the 135 M on the Pentax Q (with the Pentax K-Q adapter)

Blur by Callan S
Another Q shot, albeit one where I didn't quite nail the focus. I liked the result anyway. Call it abstract and any shot's a winner!

Backlit Leaves by Callan S
Back on the K-S2; my first outing with the 135-M.

Sundown by Callan S
And lastly, a manual HDR (handheld, 3-exposure) of the sunset from the hills near my house.

I'll keep practicing with it. I'm certain I'm not using it to the extent of its abilities yet!

M 50 f/1.7 wide open

At f/2.8:

I can't remember if this was wide open or f/1.8. The thin DOF makes me think it's wide open.

Pentax-M Fan

Hello
I'm writing from France, that's the first time I post something on the forum, and I am a fan of smc Pentax-m lenses.
I was not a collector before I discovered how good they were with my K5.
(I have 2 pentax slr too, but dont use them anymore)
The pentax-m I have :
- 28 mm F 2.8
- 50 mm F1.7
- 50 mm F2
- 85 mm F2
- Zoom 75-150 mm F4
- 100mm F4 macro
- 135 mm F 3.5
- 200 mm F4
All of them are verry good lenses, solid, a pleasure to handle, and great image quality.

I have a Pentax-A 50 mm F1.7 the IQ is very good but the construction is not as good as M's.

M50, at around F2.0 I think. Massive amounts of glass distortion in the rest of my shots, anyone know how to combat that (or is perpendicular to the glass the only way)?
