Not one of my favourite lenses but you've done a great job with it here - exposure, composition, timing etc all look perfect.

Thanks for the kind words, Jonathan and Tsuken.

I find myself using this lens quite regularly - but I have nothing of a similar length except the kit lens. Maybe one day an FA31....

Great photo of a very nice piece of architecture.

KC Sunset taken with Sony NEX6 and Pentax-M 50/1.4 by Jason Doss, on Flickr

Here's a stitch of about 15 shots from tonight's spectacular sunset.

Very nice, JC.

I don't know how to stitch, but you've done it well.

Awesome.
BTW, high(er) contrast would have ruined that

In case any of you might have missed it, take a look at the post using the plain-Jane manual 50mm f:2 lens! An often overlooked workhorse that's still worth it's salt! I have one that has always been very sharp and this post has renewed my interest if taking the old girl out for a stroll!.

I've had situations where colour contrast is amazing, then I get shots where the colours just look a bit flat. In this case the snowflakes popped a bit more against the red paint, but I'm wondering if I should look into a polarizer and see if it'll help some situations (I do have a bit of haze on one of the elements).

Of course it could also just be the older M coatings, I know my M50 has slightly lower contrast in some situations vs. my newer DA lenses but they're definitely fun in their own ways!
