Shot with the SMC Pentax-M 135mm F3.5
That lens is a winner. I have a scrap book of newspaper articles where I shot school sports with an M 135/3.5 mounted on an original Pentax (1/25, 1/50, etc) and later a KX and still later an SF-1 because it had a winder. The paper was the Abbotsford, Sumas and Matsqui News, and in the late '70s and early '80s the paper was regularly ranked third in weekly sports sections in Canada. I think I shot my children's sports for 2 or 3 months before the first photo was accepted. The didn't care what the name on the camera was, nor did they care what the name of the no cost stringer was: they just wanted the photo because photos sell papers.

[OFF TOPIC]
There was no cost to me for this, I went to the games anyway (my wife had a shift work job, so I did the taxi services) and they handed me two rolls of ISO 400 black and white for a soccer game (72 exposures total) and said go take pictures. The day after the paper went out, the editor would come to me with the contact prints and point out why this shot was almost good enough, all I had to do was take the shot when the ball was right next to the player's foot on the way out. Or at a track and field event with a confusing background that made the shot useless. Or ...... My glorious success was the whole front page of the sports section (broadsheet, yet) with two vertical shots I took; one of the meet's gold medalist crossing the finish line of a foot race; the other was a broad jumper coming straight at me. I was on my belly and got him against the a dark hill above the spectators behind.

Darned good training is all I can say. Anyone trying to learn how to take sports should find a local weekly paper and get snapping. Pictures of Johnny playing badminton results in several extra copies of papers to send the clippings to Grandma and Aunt Jane. They love to have people working for no more than a by line. Taken at my cousin's wedding last June with an SMC-Pentax M 135mm f3.5. The only usable shot I got of the actual ceremony was through this lens.

I had the M135 when I first got a Pentax in 2009. Not knowing anything about it, or lenses, I sold it. Little did I know that I would later take a big interest in the M-series prime lenses. It's one of the few that I want and don't have. Regrets.

I bought my copy via Ebay for $50 a decade ago when I first picked up an istDS. I don't shoot it very often, but it is nice to have a 200mm equivalent prime in my bag just in case.

I will probably stretch its legs a bit when I go overseas in May.

the M135 is a great lens and I only stopped using mine when I replaced it with the K135...I`m keeping the M135 just for the filter size

I took mine out for the Daily Challenge on Thursday. We sampled the wares at the Flying Saucer, and I managed this shot either wide open or one click down (f/4).

And in case you're wondering, of the wares we sampled, this was my favorite!

Here's what I'm bringing to the party. (Not bragging, as I know there are those who make my collection look tiny.)
SMC Pentax M 28mm f/2.8

SMC Pentax M 28mm f/2.8

SMC Takumar 35mm F3.5 - (M42)

SMC Asahi Pentax - M 50mm f/1.4
SMC Pentax-M 50mm f/1.7
SMC Pentax-M 50mm f/1.7
SMC Pentax-A 50mm F1.7
SMC Pentax M 50mm f/2

SMC - Takumar 55mm F2 - M42

SMC/Super-Takumar 135mm F3.5
SMC Pentax M 135mm 1:3.5
Super Takumar 135mm f/2.5 M42

Super Takumar 200mm 1:4 (M42)

Tele-Takumar 300mm f/6.3

Takumar F Zoom 70-200mm f/4~5.6 -

Takumar 85-210mm f/1.4 - M42

Today, I took out my Takumar 55mm F2 - M42 and took a few shots inside the house tonight. Here's one, hand held at f/2. This has a very nice bokeh to it. Look forward to shoot with it tomorrow.

That's a very nice collection, Glee

One thing about the clubs, though... it would be entirely understandable to think that the "M" club stands for manual lenses, but it's actually for lenses labeled "Pentax-M". I see you have a few, but the Takumars, for example, would go in the Takumar Club. You will want to check out the Pentax-F and Pentax-A clubs based on your list. I don't see any K lenses in your list (they would say just SMC Pentax on the lens, "K" is a designation given to these lenses from about 1975-1978 that had no designation). But you should check out that club as well (The K Club) - those were some GREAT lenses and they're probably my favorites from the manual era.

That's some nice bokeh from the Takumar, I have to say! I have that lens in its K version (SMC Pentax 55mm f2) and I love the rendering.

Did someone say M 135/3.5? Posted this on in the Daily in February Challenge today.

Taken at f/3.5 and minimum focus distance.

A couple with the M 100mm f/2.8 on Fuji X-M1. This lens gets very little use and I only had it with me because I was meeting a guy to sell him my M 28/2.8 and hoped to tempt him with the 100mm too. Since I got the 85/2 a few years back the 100 has barely been used.

The tilting screen of the Fuji allows sneaky people shots without them realising they're being photographed. First shot was wide open and second at f/4.

This is my first contribution to a lens club thread. Took this with my M 50mm f1.4;

I'm lucky to have such an interesting subject just across the street from my house.
