Picked up an M 50mm F2 - played around with it for a few hours so far, it has potential. Although some chromatic aberration in the first shot of the tree. (Winter Tree).

Stopping down usually helps a lot. It looks like you had quite large aperture.

Last one is my favorite. I like the colors and mood in it.

Thanks. I noticed that and started shooting at f/11. Even then there seemed to be a shallow depth of field. I am going to use the lens align on it this week and see if it makes a difference.

My copy of this lens performed pretty well stopped down. Keep working with it and I think you'll start getting better results. I, too like your last photo. These were taken at f/8 (I think):

Nick, is that first photo in the Blue Mountains of NSW? Near Wentworth Falls? Or in Tasmania?

Nice B & W work Nick, there's a lot to be said for film, it has a unique quality all its own.

I've been carrying my new fifties with me for last couple of weeks, but haven't had time to play with them, as single in challenge has filled all my shooting. Today had some spare time and took some shots with both and M50/4 macro came as a winner. All shots at f5.6. When you have nothing to shoot macro seems the way to come up with something interesting.

When you have a macro lens you're never short of a subject to photograph.

Even just in your kitchen, you can find a subject. This isn't exactly a macro, but the vertical bars are actually the wires of a bird cage .... A canary isn't very big. Stuck my FA 100/2.8 macro through the cage door wile he was hanging from the bars. He will be 12 on July 1st, and his pinions no longer grow in properly, so he gets around the cage by climbing the bars. You can see the bad wing growth of his pinions on the left.

He still sings loudly enough to drown out the vacuum cleaner.

I would have used my M 100/4 macro, but it is now owned by iheiramo. It would have done just as well as the FA
