Hi, I am new here! Today I acquired a new-to-me mint condition smc Pentax-M 50mm f1.4.This is my first MF K-mount lens and I am still getting used to it but I did manage to get a few acceptable shots with my K10D.

The smooth and the rough.

Reflections in the pool area.

A grevillea and a feather.

Welcome to the club. First pool shot is really nice.

M series fifties are great lenses with great value. For many of us it one of them has been the first M. I started with M50/1.7 and then I got a few more

Thank you for your kind words. I have plenty of Takumar screw mount primes but with this new one I don't have to use an adapter.

There's so little to go wrong with the M series lenses they are very small, light and reliable and of course full frame if you ever go down that path. vyoufinder over on YouTube has a great video on his M kit from wide angle to telephoto and a couple of very interesting videos on most of the 35mm and 50mm lenses Pentax has made across almost all series including screw mount and bayonet as well. Enjoy.

Thanks for the info. You really should not have pointed me towards that video of his M-series kit. I thought that I had kicked my LBA but I have a feeling that I am no longer in remission.

I've been quite content after my 17th M series prime. ...for two months already

I think my M collection is ready now. Many of the lenses I got just to shoot on single in challenge and most likely will sell some of them when I'm done with it. Not planning on getting the last 3 as they all are the expensive ones.
I posted a shot of my M collection a while back: The M Club! - Page 469 - PentaxForums.com

Raise you........

Though to honest as pschlute says there is no cure, most of these are either m42 or k mount though one or two are m39 and about 3 olympus, they are balanced on top of a press I was making for herself, I had to smuggle them down to the shed so she wouldn't see them all together, taken with my Samsung EX1 at 24mm so I could fit them all in, it has grown slightly since then, there are a couple of Exakta in there too.

I think the M200 is a pretty weak lens in general. I've owned two copies and while it can produce some good images it tends to be overly flat and the sharpness isn't too impressive especially given how hard it can be to get accurate focus with it. Doing some tests I've found my Tak 135 bayonet cropped to 200mm gives better results.
Oh good, I am not the only one....I have tried this lens more than once and never been happy with it...my M75-150 however...love it. Maybe I have a bad copy of the 200

I have one tucked away somewhere....I think it is time to go for a walk with it.
