Welcome to the club. First pool shot is really nice.

M series fifties are great lenses with great value. For many of us it one of them has been the first M. I started with M50/1.7 and then I got a few more
Yup, my very first SLR (K1000) came with a M50 f/2.5 .... gave it to my brother with the K-1000...now I have a f/1.4

Oh good, I am not the only one....I have tried this lens more than once and never been happy with it...my M75-150 however...love it. Maybe I have a bad copy of the 200

It's not anything special, but I did find some appreciation for it during my single in challenge month with it, as I took a lot of shots I really liked. Haven't used it after it thought, as I prefer M*300.

Though to honest as pschlute says there is no cure, most of these are either m42 or k mount though one or two are m39 and about 3 olympus, they are balanced on top of a press I was making for herself, I had to smuggle them down to the shed so she wouldn't see them all together, taken with my Samsung EX1 at 24mm so I could fit them all in, it has grown slightly since then, there are a couple of Exakta in there too.
Thank you so much for showing us that serious collection of lenses. If nothing else, you have made me feel really good as I now know that my LBA is nowhere near as severe as I thought it was. And I still have some lenses that I don't use on a regular basis. I don't have a shed that I could smuggle mine to for a photo shoot and while they are never all together in one place she doesn't know how many I have and I intend to keep it that way.

Pentax M150/3.5

I'm done with my February single in challenge with M150/3.5 and it's time for my monthly wrap up.

M150/3.5 has been great. Previously I have claimed M120 to be the best tele in M series to cover the focal lengths between 85 and 300, but I didn't have M150 then. I guess after this month I need to tune my opinion to claim that these two oddball focal lengths are the best, as M150 is there on the same level as M120. My current feeling is that M120 is a bit sharper and has better contrast. M150 has slightly better bokeh and is more suitable for portrait work. It feels like longer version of M85 rendering. For some reason both of these lenses are underrated in PF lens reviews. They should stand clearly above 100, 135 and 200mm M lenses.

This is one of the few M series primes that is sharp already wide open. It does get a little sharper stopped down, but change is not as big as it typically is. Therefore I shot quite a lot wide open to get the best out of the bokeh, which is about as good as it gets in M series. Colors are typical M series style, but lens struggles to keep colors when shot against the sun. I had to do a lot of PP to rescue colors in some shots. Also a lot of purple and green fringing if there is strong contrast in OOF areas. Bright sun in the shot came out quite awful, but smaller light sources give out decent six point starburst. 1.8 MFD is a weak point of the lens. Especially indoors it was very difficult to shoot and I often used extension tubes to get closer. On the other hand I feel that this lens is at it's best when not focused to infinity.

M150 is hard to find. It was the last lens I found for my M series collection. I have understood that it's quite rare to start with and I believe that it's quality make owners to hang on to their copies. At least I'm not going to sell mine for a long time.

March with M35/2.8 will be my last on the APSC round of M series primes in challenge.

I enjoyed using an M 50mm F4 Macro as a close-focusing tele of sorts with an adapter on the Nikon 1 V1. The camera won't operate without electrical contacts to the lens, so I had to buy a chipped adapter from a fabricator who sells on ebay. Unfortunately the adapter wasn't a perfect fit to the mount and turned out not to be very durable, but I had a good time with it while it worked. Here's some Lake Erie sandy beach vegetation:

These photos were taken in mid-February, when these trees started blooming. Most of those blossoms have fallen off already. M35-70/2.8-3.5 on K-5:
