Took M50/1.4 with me to the party, as I knew it would dimly lit. Had some wide open fun after it was too dark inside to take shots from other guests.

One clear advantage on K1ii over my older crop bodies with M lenses is wide open performance. I used to avoid wide open shooting with most of the M's as the sharpness often left me wanting more. K1ii has the same pixel dencity, but more than double the amount of pixels, compared to K5 and K30, which provides better sharpness and FF FOV emphasixe bokeh. It really makes the best out of optics.

Posted these already to other thread, but put them here also to prove my point alongside the wide open shots with fifty on previous post.

I tested some other lenses wide open this evening. M150 was good wide open also with APSC, but I haven't really liked to use M100/4 or M35/2 wide open before. With K1ii they look OK.

Nice shooting as usual. I drooled over that lens in Jasper, Alberta back in the 1980's. I stopped in the photographers shop and he just HAD to show me his new Pentax LX and M*300 when he saw me carting around my lowly KX with M 135.

Thanks. You should've bought it back then. After all these years it's still a great lens. Especially with FF body.

Love the wide open performance K1ii squeesh out of M lenses. Way better than with K5. M*300 has this fake Brenizer method mode when shot wide open objects far away, but not in infinity. I'm quite fond of this special rendering
