Indeed, that's one crisp image. Plus some nice colours.

The K10D does help with the colors, I think

November Single In Challenge 2019 with K1ii & M50/2

15th

Finally good weather. I overshot myself. Have to leave some of the shots for later edit. Going thru the sunsets from 2 cameras was all I have energy at the moment. Hard to choose official shot, but I go with this.

K1ii M50/2 ISO100 f11 1/250:

Against the sun while sun was a bit higher. I had some flare issue with this, but managed to clean it quite well in pp:

And last moment shot before sun sets completely. I see my camera was still in DST time, as in reality this was taken 3:45pm. Days are getting really short and still over a month to winter solstice. Can't wait for spring to come and light to return.

Thanks. I think I favor the last, but wanted more sun visible in official shot. This could be my only chance for it this month

I like the shots with this cheap old lens more than the ones you got out of the 18-135 Of course the format could have something to do with it, the M 50 was shot on the K-1.

There is a reason why I haven't used 18-135 since I got my first M Even thou modern coatings handle the sun better, the overall rendering doesn't have the same feeling. Also shooting experience is more thrilling with old manual lenses.

If someone had said that those pictures were taken with a top-notch professional 24-70mm f/2.8 from any brand, I would have probably believed them. Not bad for a lens that you can find here for 10-20 dollars - less than the cost of a nice dinner As I usually say... long live manual lenses!

Newer is more. convenient, but not necessarily better.

And the way things go, newer also usually means a lot bigger...

Here's a shot of a coyote spotted near my house a while back. I went out that morning mainly to get some full moon shots and try some long exposures. As I left the house and saw the coyote on the track I immediately pulled out my KP with the M 50/1.7, and didn't bother to find optimal exposure or focus in order to capture the shot before I missed it. Funnily enough, although I spent a good hour afterward with my DFA 100mm, this first shot of the day (even with its haphazard creation) is my favourite.

November Single In Challenge 2019 with K1ii & M50/2

16th - Wide open theme

Slow morning and suddenly I find myself with no time for photography. 5 minute shooting session while I drove by the harbor and quick edits. Apparently I've been long enough in SIC to provide decent results fast.
