I have come across the 85mm F2 and consider buying it. How much would you pay for this lens (EX/EX+ condition) ?

Kind regards

Here in the US, I would say it is worth a look anywhere under $300, getting more tempting as you get lower of course. I think I paid about $250 here in the marketplace for mine. It is a beautiful lens.

Ah, if it were only so.

They seem to be going for around $200 - $300 or so on ebay, if you can snipe one. I'd pay $300 for a mint copy with caps, etc in a heartbeat. If it's in rough shape cosmetically but the optics are perfect, maybe $180.

Thanks, I am sure I can get it for $300 USD, and with a bit of luck maybe $200-250USD.

Kind regards

I just recieved my M 200mm! These are the first shots and only shots I could take today as the sun went down

and finally, to check its OOF rendering:

(the sun is in the upper left hand corner)
all SOC

overall Im quite pleased, though I will hold my judgment until I can further test the lens. There is some Purple/red/green fringing depending on the subject, background and light but not too much.

Let's hear it for M's!

I have an M 50mm f/1.4; a little bit soft wide open but sharpens up nicely at f/2. I have the M 135, 150, and 200mm. All are great performers. I've used the 200 with a Kiron seven element 2X teleconverter and gotten some great results. I had an M 28mm f/2.8that was excellent. I gave it to my niece.

The 135 and 150 were given to me (like in free) by a friend who was going medium format. It got the 200 absolutely mint for $50.00. The seller didn't know what it was worth and I didn't educate him. I bought the 50mm f/1.4 at the same time as my first MX in the early 80's.

Is the 150mm sharper than the 135mm ? What is your experience comparing these two lenses ?

Kind regards

Yesterday I bought first time in my life a M lens. What should I say? I īm very surprised with the IQ of the M 200 f4.
Here are the first shots I did in my garden. They are all at f4 and processed a little in Lightroom:

So I think I have to edit my signature. The M200 can stay in my house.

Sorry about the crap washed out test photo's guys. For whatever reason they look extremely washed out when comparing to the same picture on my computer vs. flickr uploaded version. I tried re-uploading it but they still looks way washed out. Man, I've been having a lot of problems with flickr lately (sharpening my pictures, changing colors slightly, etc.).

(the second is not bad, but 1 and 3 are pretty washed out)

m120 2.8

Love the picks from the 200mm! I have only one M and it's the 120mm. Very likable little lens and very capable too. Nice to have the extra speed over the 135 3.5. Two pics I like:

120mm

The SMC-M 120mm F2.8 has been on my wish list for a while. I wonder how it compares to the SMC-M 100mm F2.8.

The 120mm focal length fills the gap between my DA 70 (or future 85mm F2) and the SMC-M 200mm F4. Do you have more pics taken by the 120mm ??

Kind regards
.lars

Hmmm.... I have considered creating a Flickr account but if the pics are changed then I will look for another solution.

Very rarely do I notice it, but when it does happen noticeably it irks the crap out of me..... Anyone experience the same problems? Im thinking that if I switch to a pro account it will be better.

Using M lenses with K-7

Are there any problems with using M lenses with the K-7 - a poster within an Australian Forum is experiencing problems with a 50 1.4 remaining wide open despite manually shutting the aperture down.

I do not own a K-7 so cannot use my own experiences.
