Just recently purchased my first M lens - 135mm f3.5 and thought I post my first attempts with a manual lens. I don't think this will be the last M lens I buy. Infact I have just ordered a 28mm f3.5 M.

I am not sure if I have posted the images correctly. Export settings from lightroom -
jpeg, srgb, long edge 1000pixels, 72dpi. The files are about 500kb before uploading but but when uploaded they get compressed to a much smaller size. The first 2 images look ok but the last image has lost all its sharpness. Have I done this correctly

Nice! Looks like the forum software resized them to 600 pixels wide, so if you don't want the forum software doing the resizing for you, then it would probably be better to export them at 600 pixels wide in the first place. Presumably Lightroom would do a better job of the resizing than the forum software,

Do you have a flickr account? it's usualy easier just to upload there and hotlink.

I think I took these pics in that same park.

I attended a couple of shows this week where I just knew my M100/2.8 - which unfortunately hasn't seen much use lately - would be ideal. Every time I use it, I remember why I like it so much. Here's a couple of shots, both with my K200D:

K20 with the M 40-80mm lens. I've been experimenting with food shots lately.

One of these days I will probably cave in to the M120/2.8, as I just keep going back and forth between my 100 and 135. A couple of days ago you saw 100; now here's the 135 again:

I got the K 120mm F2.8 for the same reason as you. However, it was actually worse than my M 135mm F3.5 so I sold it. Big disappointment. It could be sample variation though. I see that keh.com has the M 120mm in transit.

Kind regards

Yeatzee, love those dog pics.

hmm....why not go a little crazy ....here's one from M 85.
K10d, ISO 800 and pushed a lot in PP so I guess it's more like ISO 1600.

Kind regards
.lars

The M and K are different optical formulas, so the fact that you didn't care for the K doesn't concern me. And frankly, I wouldn't need the 120 to be better than the 135 - just a little shorter and a little faster, as advertised. As I've mentioned before, I rarely really get the maximum sharpness out of my lenses anyhow shooting in low light. Between the loss of resolution from high ISO noise and the slight motion blur I'll virtually always be seeing in my concert photography, it almost doesn't matter how sharp the lens is or isn't (to a point, of course).
