It definitely is Spring weather here in Vancouver, it has been for the past couple of months! Just thought I'd test the bokeh on my new M 100mm f/2.8.

Very nice! I considered buying this lens but found it redundant as I already own the M85 F2 and K135 F2.5

Kind regards

Little help with metering!

I have just plundered my mothers M 1.7 50mm from her ancient pentax that she bought ump-teen years ago (don't worry she had the 100mm macro as well and I left that firmly attached to the camera body). I have this lovely little peice of glass on my k7 camera body but can't figure out if I can use the light meter in the camera with this lens. At the moment I am guessing the light and exposure settings and just having a go. Its certainly improving my photography but is getting a little annoying

If anyone could help me figure this out or even let me know if it can't be done so I can end my fruitless search through the k7's menus.

thanks

Sam

Hi there just joined today.
I have a K7 and have recently nabbed the M 1.7 50mm off my mothers old camera. Having some issues with the metering however, I can't seem to get the light meter to work at all with the M-lens.
At the moment just guessing my exposures which is helping my photography but is getting a little frustrating esp in low light situations.
was wondering if anyone out there could give me a blow by blow account of how to turn on the metering or even if its possible.
thx for your help
sam

I don't own a Pentax dSLR, but you need to go into your camera menu and access one of the custom features. It should be one of a whole slew of camera settings. You're looking for a setting that affects the assignment of the green (set?) button.

Thanks folks! Very nice photos from the 135 and 85, lars....!

I need to pick up a 28mm for snapshots, but my DA 40 is doing such great job at that. I wish Sigma would release their new 8-16mm faster.

I agree with you, if you already have the 85 and 135 then the 100 is just to close, particularly to the 85. Since I have neither (I looked long and hard for the 85 f/2) the 100 has impressed me and is a keeper for sure.

M 100mm f/2.8

M 100mm f/2.8 at f/2.8 about 1m away from subject (as close as I could get!).

Nice! BTW, the M100/2.8 plays quite nicely with a Raynox 150 (and presumably 250 if you want more); I use a 43-49mm stepping ring.

My M 2/85

I just wanted to share this one . Taken on a recent trip to Tokyo. Again and again I am impressed with the 2/85. As I have said in my lens review, this is a lens I can use with total confidence.
