I think it is a cowbird

Although it seems to be a cowbird, it does not match exactly any photographs I could find. She is eating seeds fallen from a feeder. This is a dark corner of the property, shaded by a tree, so the light is far from ideal. The streak of sunlight is coming from 45 degrees to the back right of the bird. K10D, ISO 560, 1/125 @ f/8, heavily cropped to 1275x864.

50mm 1.7

I just bought mine from a user on the Market Place. Lew7.62 thank you! (kinda rhymes)

I found his copy to be exceptional. Unless my eyes deceive me, this glass is sharp!

Just some snaps I took so far, nothing really of the artistic value here.

Hope no one gets grossed out by this one. lol

Nice doggy shot

Gave my M135 f/3.5 a bit of a go on digital today, as previouslly I have mainly used it on film. Great lens, this is why I love M series lenses:

Learning to focus

Taken with 50mm 1.7 and 135 MM 3.5 -some with tripod some w/o. Not sure I can tell the difference. Mostly accepting pentax auto in manual focus suggestion.

Some shots from my "M" lenses at last weekend's JazzFest Denver.

Jeff Jenkins playing piano & keyboard (M28/2.8):

Bobby Watson's quartet looking like they're having way too much fun (M28/2.8):

The M100/2.8 didn't come out much except at night. Here's Karrin Allyson:

And again with the M100/2.8 for Trio Da Paz. Here's Nilson Matta:

And Romero Lubambo (again, M100/2.8):

The remaining shots here are from the M135/3.5. Local bassist Ken Walker is know for smiling when he plays, but as much as I've shot him, I hadn't really caught this well until now:

There was a great vantage point in a balcony to the right of the stage (see shots in the DA15 thread) to catch drummers from above:

My wife has known KC guitarist Rod Fleeman since she was a little girl, but this was my first time meeting or hearing him:

Marc, great gig shots! i especially liked the drummer. the shutter speed you chose was perfect for implying motion.

SMC Pentax M 400/5.6

I had an hour or so to spare today so down to the local pond I went. Here's a few from my walk:

This little Goldfinch sat quite still for a few minutes but would only show me his backside.

This is some sort of Tree Swallow (I think)

Cheers

I think I'll keep the F 1.7X AF converter

Here are two images taken over the past weekend at Waterton Lakes National Park, Canada, with my M 400/5.6 and using the F 1.7X AF converter to get some reach. Note the size of the little yellow bird in the uncropped image, then have a look at him at 100%. Purple saturation reduced to 0, Sharpened. It was a very windy day - normal for this park - so a bit of motion blur is shown, probably a combination of the branch moving and the camera/tripod motion. I pressed the shutter manually, not using the remote. I might smarten up one day. Then again, I might not.

The bird is a warbler, but I have not found the exact variety yet.

[Edit]I have identified the bird: Geothlypis trichas, the Common Yellowthroat Warbler

K10D, ISO 100, 1/90 @ f/8 (f/13.6 effective).

And here is the cropped version.

My thoughts too. Well done Marc, not just for being a user of the great M lenses that I love, but for taking great shots too.

Thanks! It was an interesting challenge shooting in "good" light in most cases (yay for faster shutter speeds; boo for well-lit cluttered backgrounds).
