M85/f2

Haven't had this long but I like the colour reproduction and sharpness (when focused correctly)

M 50mm macro

I'm steadily collecting some M lenses, and they are gradually getting more expensive! The latest is the M 50mm macro, which came in a dedicated case, and focusses very accurately.

Nice shot.

I've had the M 50/4 for many years and it is one of the sharpest lenses I own. It is the real sleeper in the M series lineup and a bargain. Enjoy it.

A couple of snaps from the local zoo-aquarium with the fifty wide open:

Here's a set (almost all picture from the zoo-aquarium are with the M 50, the others at the zoo are with the FA 135).
Before someone asks, you could see aperture information on the exif data for the 50 cause i shorted the "a" pin on the body. (and by not completley mounting the lens it feels almost like i've an A 50 )

And Romero Lubambo (again, M100/2.8):

Great series!
I love that picture.

My M200/4 only comes with me on rare occasions - concerts in venues that are large but unusually dark for the size - outdoor concerts tend to be this way. A backyard "house concert" the other night was just an occasion. I used my M135/3.5 and M28/2.8 some too; one shot from each below but mostly the 200.

Before it got dark:

M200/4

M200/4

Then the "Golden hour" hits...

M200/4

...starts to fade...

M135/3.5

...and before you know it, it's dark:

M28/2.8

M200/4

That last shot especially, and your previous series in this thread - getting some seriously good stuff there.

Thanks! BTW, in case it wasn't obvious - this was the same event as the "pot-luck" from the DA15 thread with the sunset and the cliff.

Great shots, Marc...again...of course...*yawn*...to be consistently good at what you do must be boring. No challenge, no surprises, just good shot after good shot...

I'm just kidding, of course. Another fantastic series. I especially like the final stage shot. I'd love to see some exif data on these. Lens? Apeture? ISO? Shutter speed? WB? etc?

Thanks - of course, you only see the keepers. I deleted almost half what I shot (I get more aggressive about this eahc year).

The EXIF should be present in all those images - most browsers have plug-ins available to let you view it. Or download the picture and view it in whatever other software you might have. But I can tell you the lenses used were listed right below each photo. The apertures I can't always say because they aren't recorded with "M" lenses, but anything taken after the sun went down would have been wide open. Anything with perfectly round out of focus highlights would presumbly be wide open as well. Anything with clearly visible geometric shapes would have been stopped down a bit - but I don't think I shot anything more stopped down than f/5.6 in that series. I'd guess the first three shots were around f/5.6, the rest f/4. ISO and shutter speed you can read from the EXIF. WB I always leave auto in camera, but fix as necessary in PP. I don't think I touched the WB for the daytime shots, but the artificially lit ones I used the Tungsten preset in PP (or manually adjusted it to something close). The first one of the ukulele player was right at dusk, and I selected the Cloudy preset in PP for that one, as AWB rendered it much cooler than I wanted.

That last shot - my favorite too - was K200D, M200/4, f/4, ISO 1600, 1/180", Tungsten WB preset in ACDSee. The shadow on his face was originally rather harsher; I lightened it a bit (which is why it's as noisy as it is).

Some shots with the M-200mm f/4 and M-50mm f/1.7

I just love my M-series lenses! They're small wonders.

Green Finch in flight in my front yard. Seems to love our rosebushes:

Taken with the M-200mm at f/8, 1/250s.

----

Flower from my friend's garden in Oak Creek Canyon, Sedona, Arizona:

M-50mm at f/1.7, 1/60s.

----

Castle Rock at midnight, Sedona, Arizona:

M-50mm at f/2.8, 3 minutes.

All of the above shot with a Pentax K2000.

SMC Pentax-M 50/1,7 mounted on a 35mm Pentax Super Program (same as Pentax Super A). The film is an expired kodak color plus 200.

M 50mm 1:1.7, stopped down to f4

Just a couple shot with the M50 1.7 in Kaboom Town in Addison...just minutes before the rain came pouring down.

my new favorite lense on my aps.c

Im shooting with a k-x and up to now i have loved the m 50 1.7, which i still do, but this m28 2.8 is just perfect with the crop factor! this is the perfect carry around if you want to travel extremely light which is my scenario as of late. We just had our first child, my lovely daughter penelope who is now five weeks old!
