Good work with that 50mm Bill.

You've got a great tool time thread going here.

+1 I like the lighting on these. I bet that old Snap-On is still up to the task, too!

It is interesting how photos of old tools can have almost a portrait feel to them.

Still getting to know the M120/2.8.

This twig seems almost human (looks like an opera scene to me):

Another "cat" shot:

Pretty heavy crop (aka, let's see your AF lens do this):

Budding crabapple (with help from a Raynox 150):

Back to what I actually got the lens for:

Ah, but you're really takin' unfair advantage over the AF guys with that squirrel shot as framed, Marc!

Тhis 120mm is very unique! I like the softness and calmness of the bokeh, nothing else pentax made is that soft and calm in bokeh!

Thanks. I recently tested this particular M50/1.4 against my A50/1.7 and M50/1.7 and the 1.4 was noticeably sharper, even wide open. Also the 8 vs 6 aperture blades made for noticeably rounder highlights in the bokeh at much smaller aperture settings. It is a real gem at a reasonable cost.

Hi davinci - nice photos with your M50/1.7. It's one of my favorite lenses, also. Looks like you're on the right track to me - enjoy your new lens

A couple of very nice shots there. The second is nothing if not vivid, you´ve nothing to worry about. In general, you can make a shot more vivid by boosting the saturation & contrast, but be careful as it´s easy to go overboard & make it look unreal.

The M50 1.7 is a fantastic lens. I hadn´t had mine on the camera since I got the 1.4 version at christmas, but I put it on today & it really is fantastic. They´re different, not one better than the other (therefore I´ll have to keep them both ).

Got my M85 yesterday and did a walk in the village with it instantly

M85@f/2

@f/2.8 or f/3.2?

And @f/8 at the MFD - 50% Crop!

I use the Metal Takumar 135/150/200 Hood with the lens, luvly Setup even though the Optic is kind of dusty and has some cleaning marks at the front, but that didn't bother me to much.

Regentag - that 85 looks like a good one! I need to build up my M collection - I only have two, both of them 50s. Here's one from my M50/1.7: (xposted from bokeh thread)
