So apparently, the M120/2.8 has the most "pixie dust" of any of my lenses. A sampling from the past week or so:

My first tests with the M120/2.8

I was lucky to find a copy of this lens this past weekend. These are some of my first attempts (and victims):

Nice! Oddly enough, I haven't really done any portraits with my 120 yet. Looking forward to it now. I especially like #1 above.

I do like the M series a lot. Well built and compact.

The M85/2 is really under rated.

Just landed me an M 200 f4, M 50 f2, and a Vivitar film body for $25. I haven't tried the 50 yet, but here's one with the 200:

I just picked up a few manual lenses on Craigslist for $45. I've just figured out the settings to shoot manual on my DSLR k-x but I'll pop back in when I have a couple of shots. Here's the list of lenses I picked up:

smc Pentax-M 1:2 50mm
Ashahi Optical Co.

smc Pentax-M 1:2.8 35mm
Asahi Opt. Co.

Coated Super Albinar Auto 1:2.8 f=28mm

Coated Super Albinar Auto 1:2.8 f=135mm

They are in surprisingly good condition for sitting in the guys closet, in a shoe box - no less!

Pretty nice batch of lenses for the price. I'm jealous of your M35/2.8 - I want one! Shooting the old manual lenses is so much fun - enjoy

Thanks! I really don't know what's good in that grouping and what isn't. But I'm happy to have them and look forward to having fun and training my eye too!

You've got a good sampling of the basic focal lengths there. I don't have any experience with the Albinars, but your Pentax M's are good lenses, especially the 35mm. The M50 f/2 doesn't get a lot of love around here, but I've found it to be very capable in the right settings. I use mine as a general daytime walkaround lens. Stopped down to f/8 with good light, it can deliver great images. You'll just have to jump in and play around with them, and see what works best for you. Also getting your eye accustomed to manual focusing - use the focus confirmation in the viewfinder to help you out.

50mm f/1.7 Photos of a friend's band. I love this lens on my K1000, taken me a while to get used to it on APS-C, but it felt like the lens was made for this use. A lot of fun to use!
