I have been using M's exclusively on a Panasonic m4/3 and have not used one on a DSLR since probably late winter/early spring. It's been a pleasant surprise!

American Goldfinch

Lots of these fellows about of late.

Thistles aren't everyone's cup of tea but these guys thrive on them.

Nice to see you out with M400/5.6 Tom,beautiful shots as always.
Last breeders of the season because of that plant,

Been trying bit of everything on these hummer's...M*300/4,75mm extension here (@ F/5.6).
M400/5.6 next.Have one more old TC to de-glaze.Take M400 out with 100mm of extension.
Not sure if pigment and keratin of plumage,or pollen gives yellow flouresence when using flash.

Very impressive Bill.

I've had little or no luck with hummers save the odd smudge.

Looking forward to your future efforts.

Here's a hummer with the 400/5.6 and AFA 1.7X. - last shot before the disaster when the quick release let go. My fault I'm sure.

Like what that AF1.7 does with M400, Albert.Hope the 'ol gal' is back in fighting trim
for you before long. Sure would like to see Tom 'get ahold' of one of these Ruby-throats, would be spectacular results.
