Took my fifty out today for some practice rounds... Some hits and a lot of misses.... Out of 178 shots about 60 or so are somewhat decent. Frm owe about 20 are real good... This one was shot from the hip..

First time i've shot really in about 3 or so months

Bokeh panorama for the first time with my M 85mm F/2 @ F/2.8. About 22 photographs iirc, really the only way to do the photo justice is seeing it large. Unfortunately my flickr pro account expired and i've got no funds to renew it so photobucket will have to do.

edit: apparently photobucket fails and only allows me to post the semi massive version without a medium sized thumbnail. Soooo i'll post a small thumbnail, just click on the link for a larger version.

My Brand New (to me) 100mm 1:4 M Macro

First shot off the block.

Taken wide open at f4. Interesting DOF going on there. Love the colour contrast and detail in the wings.

That looks nice... BTW how do you find M 100/4 comparing to your Tammy 90/2.8. M seems to be cheaper my LBA towards macro lens is growing.

Thanks repaap.

First impressions are that the M 100/4 has a great sharpness to it, but I get the feeling that the bokeh might be slightly different? I need to go back and shoot some more on the Tammy before I can honestly say, because the 90mm Tammy has been neglected of late.

Rendering of the 100mm macro seems to me a bit reminiscent of a 55/1.8? I got some very clear 'real' looking shots as well, which I was impressed with. Note that the 100mm is f4, while the Tammy is 2.8. Theoretically that should make a difference in low light and such.... Contrast and colour seem to be pretty vivid on the 100mm. Possibly slightly more so than the Tammy. But this is all off the top of my head.

I'll try and do some shootouts of the two lenses soon and get back to you. I meant to do some more macro shots this evening but have gotten distracted by the forum... And now it's getting close to bedtime.....
