Argh. I feel destined to never have an M20. But I want one. I also want a Rikenon 18mm 2.8. I missed one on Ebay a year or two ago, and I haven't forgiven myself.

Eddie, I couldn't agree more. Sweeping vistas are (generally) rendered unimpressive and dull with my Sigma 10-20; a much better FL is 20-35mm (on crop) IMHO.

Beautiful set. Especially like the dreamy composition of #1, and how well you've captured the subtle range of yellows in #3.

Just bought one of these from a local dealer for a very good price. Not had much chance to use it yet, but it is wonderfully wide on film (which is my main intended used for it). It is wonderfully compact, about the same size as the M50/1.7.

I didn't intend to get many M series lenses as I have mainly Ks, but I have ended up with M20/4, M28/3.5, M50/1.7 and M50/2, M85/2, M100/2,8 and a M200/4. ops:

#1 is dreamy! Great shot.

I decided to use my K-5 with my old beat up M50 f1.7 this weekend gone, and you know what, it was great! Sad thing is the loose front section is now only held on by a screw (i guess). Maybe time to acquire a better quality copy!

Thanks paulh and bickrs! Nice family set btw! The K-5 really makes that M 50 1.7 shine.

And yeah, I have a bit of play on the focus ring on my M 50 1.7 as well. Sometimes makes thin DOF focusing a bit tricky. But other than that, at least it's still holding up alright.

Thanks! It's not the focus ring, it's the bit in front of that. The lens still works fine though, just a little beat up :-)

SMC-M 28 mm

I did a little bit of pixel peeping with the SMC-M 28 mm 2,8 @ f 5,6 with my trusty ist dl, without sharpening

Hi, hope I'm welcome in the club. I'd like to join with a set of pictures from my girlfriend's M 50/1.7 and M 28/2.8, taken by both of us during the last year or so. Very easy to use compared to M42s that I got accustomed to.

M50:

I hope it wasn't too boring and that some of the joy of the photos got over to you
